You're one of the reasons that I think game developers will pull more and more away from showing stuff ahead of time. The kind of sad nutjob who goes looking for everything they've said in the last x years and holding them to ransom over it. #selfentitledgamers #prioritiesyeah

  • Its not like he paid money for a full game with an expanding universe that wasn't given to him or anything......oh wait he did pay money for a half completed game where the first two releases were a raid that could've been released day one and can only be completed once a week and Queens wrath which consists of the SAME SHIT giving armor and weapons that are no better than anything you already have.....I guess it counts as "new content" but with Iron banner only lasting one week and the only other planned releases being one "new" game type on the crucible which they could just make available all the time... but once again is the same content just slightly different the more "new" content they release the less I believe this game will truly evolve. Since the only evidence they have given me is nothing new nor anything special. In December this game will have new content but releasing a game that doesn't even have enough content to LAST one month is just lazy.

  • This person pretty much has it on the money. None of you gamers have any say or sway over what happens in the course of the game's development. Before the game goes gold and is ready to be produced and shipped, EVERYTHING is subject to change whether you like it or not. This is just like people razing hell over how Watch_Dogs had the good graphics removed by Ubisoft between one E3 and another. But, what people didn't read at the beginning of the "good" trailer was "Gameplay footage not final; subject to change." None of this story from 2013 was promised to us. In the game development pipeline there are things that happen that are beyond the control of developers. Did the lead writer leave because they did something to the story, or did they do something to the story because he left? We don't have answers to these questions and we probably never know. Hell, that post on reddit supposedly outlining the story could just be a giant lie thrown out into the open for the sole purpose of firing more flak at Bungie. We don't know what happened that caused them to do this. We probably never will. One thing I do know, however, is that Bungie has a decade-long plan for this game. If they're structuring it like an MMO, while it's no an MMO, they'll need lots of content for stuff down the line. Obviously, if this game is going to last a while, they probably have more than just those two expansions planned.. And, we still don't know the possibilities Bungie has in store when it comes to free content updates. We could get new weapons, maps, and content in small, free bursts from them. We don't know yet; it's only been a few weeks since the game came out and it's still in it's infancy. People whining about EVERY SINGLE LITTLE DETAIL, including these kinds of things - which are merely rumors, for the most part - is pretty funny though.

You're one of the reasons game developers get away with misleading, and in some cases, blatantly lying to consumers #Ijustlovebeingliedto #pleasetakemymoney

  • Everything pre-release of a game is subject to change at the whims of whomever is making it. That's not lying to you, that is called game development. Things change during development - nothing is fixed until a game goes gold. #yourhashtagsarepants #minearebetter

  • He's right and it happens with everything it's just Bungie like to be more open with their fans. Features in phones, cars, movies and just about anything else you can think of - there will be things that are tight on the project time line, risk assessed and then cut. They may have found game breakers they had to cut out. It's all part of development

So if you buy a car with parts of the engine missing that you have to buy later, you think that's standard practice? I love the game don't get me wrong, but it feels empty. Like it was gutted. You open the case and what's the first thing you see? Expansion Pass. All of my friends who have played the game feel the exact same way.In fact, I'd say a large portion of the player base does. How people can defend this type of BS is beyond me. I know people like to defend things they spend their money on, but come on.

  • No it's stuff you'll never know about as I said. Maybe at first the new nav system will be included in the sale price but on launch it'll be a $1000 option or will have limited feature. Maybe the choice of interior colour ways was 7 but in the last year of development they limited it to 2. You clearly know very little about how a product is developed so I'd do a little research before throwing your opinion around - then you'll have more credibility

  • Your analogy I completely flawed. Destiny functions fine as a full game. A better analogy would be complaining about why their car can't fly when a company said it would be possible 20 years prior. Arguing based on delusional expectations doesn't really help your case.

Delusional expectations? LOL Expecting a game to be excellent when it has a 5 year + development cycle, a massive budget, and the developers of Halo making it? Yeah, so delusional! An even better analogy, would be not being able to go over 50mph until you buy more shit. It functions alright and it gets you from point A to point B, but it doesn't reach the level that it should have done. Add to that the fact that the car was advertised as a pro-racing car, and that's pretty much how I and a lot of people feel... The potential is there, but Bungie fvcked up big time. Literally everything in the game is recycled... the combat is basically Halo. I like that, but it's lazy. The missions are all the same. Again, lazy. The backstory isn't even integrated into the game. Lazy. The bosses are just big versions of other enemies, and only have one attack pattern. Lazy. there are next to no customisation options... You can't even colour individual parts of your armour! This is 2014! Lazy. The public events are laughably poor. usually consisting of just fighting stuff you've already fought but with a different coloured health bar, lazy. Maybe you're right. Maybe they didn't rip anything out of the game. If that's true though, and Bungie spent 5 years on this, what the hell happened to them?! Did all their talent leave? i just doesn't make sense at all. Surely you can understand the points I've made and see them for yourself.

  • Look at how you used the word "should've," remember how I brought up delusional expectations, and realize that nothing advertised is guaranteed to be in the final product.

  • We were promised a completely original experience but we were given a Halo MMO with no story. Lazy seems to be prevalent theme here. Or cash grab, take your pick.

  • Agreed. And just like every other MMO I've played the grind will get boring fast (already getting bored and i only had the game 20 days). Is it true they had $500MM to make this game? I wonder how that budget compares to your standard AAA title. Seems like a monumental amount of $$ considering this game has zero innovation and doesn't break any new ground at all. At a minimum the maps could be better, much better. I mean these maps are a joke . I feel like i keep travelling down the same corridor, over the same bridge, down the same tunnel, etc etc. And you know you're getting tired of the repetiveness when you start yelling at your Ghost. My Ghost: "The cave is just ahead!" Me: "yeah, I know its just ahead a**hole, I've been here a million effing times already"

  • Complacency in the face of publishers screwing everyone over with stunts like this is what caused the game industry to crash in 1983. With the Internet we can at least call them out on their bullshit.

  • Keyboard crusaders... I like Destiny, I'm happy to receive content as an ongoing bonus or as DLC. But that's because I'm an adult, with disposable income who is more than capable of deciding what I spend my hard earned on. The nature of gaming has changed in my 30+ years of gaming, but that is the just the nature of the beast. If the direction of the hobby isn't to your liking, that's your problem.

  • I frankly don't care if you're an adult with disposable income or not, I actually, ya know, don't like being lied too or screwed out of half a game they told me I was getting because I'm a person who has enough self respect to not stand for being lied too. If you lack that, than that's your problem. That they technically reserve the right to change their game on a whim, that doesn't mean they should do so while pretending to still be making the game they promised initially. Unless you mean to say con artists are morally justifiable.

  • If you believe any piece of hype years before a game comes out, than it's not about being an adult. You are just naive. I know it sucks to be promised things years before hand, but developing a game is an organic process. Not much is set in stone. Shame for everyone really, not just for the customers. Next time don't believe the hype, have the patience hold your cash in your pants until you can tell what it is you are buying better, and than decide.

I didn't believe any hype, I've been pretty open with the fact that I came into Destiny basically knowing the facts, not the hype, because I deliberately stayed away from the hype after being burned on Reach. So I poked my head in every now and then to see what the game was looking like, but didn't interact much with the community. But there is a difference between believing the hype, and believing the developers. Being hyped is when hearing the name of the game gets you excited and you're blind to the flaws until launch; believing the devs is supposed to be common sense, especially about large features like entire planets, locations, features and pretty much the entire damn story. Don't blame me for thinking Bungie was telling the truth when they showed us stuff rendered in game, or when they told me you could go to Saturn (and then showed Saturn) or when they showed cutscnes that are now cut scenes. It doesn't excuse them of all the blame.

  • It's easy to blame the company when you could've easily seen what content was available at launch. I fail to see how being financially retarded is Bungie's fault.
