So Bungie changed their mind - they are entitled to do that you know... it is their game.
It's also entirely possible that as the story develops more will be revealed. They might not have gone completely away from their original idea, just decided to play it differently to build it up.
Either way, at the end of the day, it's a computer game. Who lets their knickers get in a twist over a computer game?

The troll is real. So instead you spend your time bashing people on a forum for a "silly computer game"?
-
Saying "they have the right to _________" is the worst defense of any activity. It implies that the best thing you can say about something is that they're allowed to do it. Go with a different defense in the future.
-
Why? I can just mute you instead. Much easier than listening to your pointless attempt to refute my point. #mutedftw
-
"I don't like what you say, so mute!" So much childishness on these forums...
-
The bungie defense force is here!
-
And by "play it differently" you mean chop it up and pay $15.00 for each DLC they release......
-
Edited by Flywheel: 9/29/2014 1:50:14 PMThe alternative would be a $15 monthly fee like the MMOs of today. $15 per expansion is way, way cheaper for us consumers. You have to remember that Bungie games are sandboxes. Much of the experience is generated by you and friends goofing off, through the replayability of very finely tuned combat mechanics. If most of what they sold were locations, new quests, and other stuff stored on a disc or downloaded, then there's no way we'd get around the monthly fee. See: ESO, SWTOR. How is the pay-to-play model working out for them?
-
In that regard, I do agree with you. The only exception being if it is already on the disc and just locked, or if it's true DLC that comes after. Either way, I still hate that the story has to be finished with DLC, instead of simply extending the story. As vast as a Universe can be, they could have literally done anything with the DLC and I assure you more people would of had an interest in it.
-
How is that different from any other game since the 360 and PS3 were released.
-
Edited by HillbillyHoser: 9/29/2014 1:26:02 PMWell first off, if we use the "others have done it so what's the big deal" we should all go mass murder the Jews because "Hey, Hitler did it" or why not kill that cheaper hooker on the street corner? "Hey, others have done it". But on a serious note..... It's not at all different than any other DLC ridden game. I've hated what DLC has turned into 2yrs after I had my 360. DLC has made the fanboy wars worse, it's severely changed how the game industry is handled. Look at games pre PS3-360. WHOLE SOLID GAMES BUILT! And usually much better then the crap they turn out now. And the reason for that is the precious DLC. Instead of having a complete 100% game package that we pay full price for, they cut and quarter the game and charge $15.00 extra for things that should, and probably already was, in the game. Destiny's biggest problem with DLC is that the DLC should EXTEND THE STORY, NOT FINISH TELLING IT.
-
Yes I to have thought man this is a bad game now I know what the Jews felt like
-
Wow... nothing like trivializing the Holocaust to rant against a computer game eh... #getyourprioritiesstraight #itsjustagame #plonker
-
Stop with the hash tags already. You sound like an idiot.

Edited by HillbillyHoser: 9/29/2014 1:44:55 PMOERMAGERHD ITS DAH HESHTERGS. And also, I wasn't ranting against a computer game, it was a well based fact on DLC.
-
Yes mate, you're ranting about DLC... a computer game... and thinking a holocaust analogy is even vaguely relevant. There is more to life than a computer game. I think you're in the wrong hobby. #yeahilikehashtags #hillbillyhosed
-
Perhaps he should get into the hobby of trolling internet forums everyday, you seem to be enjoying it immensely. #getajob #getawife #stopwankingintoyoursocksnowonderyouneverhaveanytowear
-
hahaha you seriously made me laugh with that comment on hitler and the jews. its shows exactly how stupid the "others have done it before" argument really is
-
They are just trying to make more money which is the entire point of making the game no matter how many times they tell you it is something different. Can you say you would do it differently?
-
Because we weren't promised all of that content in pre release marketing with other games. And must self respecting game companies won't disc lock their DLC effectively making you pay twice for stuff you already bought.
-
No you didn't buy that it was on the disk and you didn't know it was there
-
Yes we did. we certainly expected it to be at the very least, when the trailers and developers were showing things and making promises about things that just aren't there.
-
They never specifically said what missions you would be getting they could have shown footage from dlc that will be released later
-
That is exactly the problem and if you can't see the issue, then you are part of the problem. They showed us content that will be released as DLC later without telling us the truth, thereby implicitly stating it's in game. And they explicitly said you could go to Saturn in the game. So no dude, no matter which way you cut it , this is a sham. They screwed us with false promises.
-
The dlc will be a part of the game when it is released and saturn will likely be included then
-
And it's all stuff they told us will be in the game at launch. But they sold us half the game and are telling us to buy the other half.
