Because it's an mmo.
Don't like it then don't buy a game that requires an online connection.

If it's an MMO then where's the multiplayer? Only multiplayer is the crucible and that's pretty much separate everythijg else.
-
Campaign... Strikes... Nightfall, raid... I gues you don't consider "multiplayer" what part if game can't be multiplayer?
-
There's a difference between multiplayer and co-op. I like the 3 player co-op. That's a lot of fun. The randoms I can do without. Keep those guys in the towers and crucibles.
-
I guess you can say campaign is solo... But no way you strike and raid solo. You payed for mmo and you got one. The main idea of destiny's gaming was supposed to be mmo shooter, that's what attracted attention for it. It's online to promote team play and interaction

Edited by AAXIII: 9/29/2014 9:17:46 PMQuestion: If I'm on a mission and I lose connection, does it keep all the xp and items I found during the mission?
-
No, I've disconnected only twice before for a moment during middle of a match, and when I check bounties.. They still progressed right
-
Are you running around the world with other players? Yes? There you go.
-
That's it. Other MMO's have guilds, duels, trades, bases/houses, etc.
-
No, traditional MMO's do.
-
Yea, it's a rough one. It's been born with little foresight. Give it time. No offline mode.
-
Ok. I'll give it time.
