This is unreal. Making us wait until the end of the year and next year, chopping out parts of the game that are clearly already done and just locked behind invisible walls and BS like that.
This is Capcom and the SFxT debacle all over again, just they've hidden it fairly well.
From the looks of everything on these maps, THIS would have been a full, complete game.
This is incredibly despicable Bungie. Especially since you are claiming that the DLC are so called "expansions", what a load of BS.

-blam!- bungie

I have to admit, as an avid supporter of bungie and destiny since before alpha testing... This PISSES ME OFF. Number 1, these places are on/in the maps and locked off. More importantly, the big game world was obviously lacking even enough story content to cover all the areas. If it's true that the other locked areas and enough content to cover the original maps is all paid dlc, well I don't even. I love the game and I think as a whole, it's a great value and still one of the most addictive and we'll rounded games I've ever played. But literally blocking passages in the main game with a dlc wall is something else.
-
I don't believe that this is entirely Bungie, because activision was also part of the game, so that's who I believe is making the DLC decisions.
-
This is not the first or last game with dlc on disc. You can complain all you want, but they are in their legal right to do so. No matter how many petition or treating to sue will change this. I suggest accept it and move on.
-
Sees words on a screen - on-disc DLC confirmed. Dumbass.
-
Do we know these areas will be unlocked as paid DLC, rather than free DLC? I know it's more than likely we'll have to shell out to access this content but I'd rather judge things on fact than speculation.
-
I can't believe I defended this game to the extent I did. Looking like an idiot... I traded it in yesterday and won't be coming back unless a miracle happens and Bungie actually delivers on their promises. Ten year game my ass. Making us pay for content clearly on the disc. This is only going to make The Master Chief Collection that much better. Way to go from the top straight to the gutter Bungie... You won't be missed. I hope it was worth getting in bed with Activision and Sony...

Edited by DEZARATH: 9/29/2014 10:50:02 PMI'm not paying a dime for this until I read a review. So Bungie you better cram in -blam!-ing beards, Tigerman, cat-ears, and manual space flight.

To all the people talking about the file size from the digital distributers. This is a license file yes a unlock file. The update will happen in game and the true size of the dlc will be know upon release. This is a common practice. Whether or not is already on disc is still uncertain. The disc must be data mind (with proof). But seeing as the file size on disk in 19 gigs. I doubt it. Titan fall filled the damn disk. Same with bf4 forza dead rising. Lol people 19 gigs is incredibly small for a current generation game. The hi rez textures take up so much god damn space it's stupid. I'll wait to pass judgement when the dlc goes live.
-
Why is everyone so pessimistic? We've had no word from Bungie on this matter. For all we know this could be FREE content that comes before the DLC. It doesn't seem like these areas even pertain to the stories that will be told in the DLC anyway.
-
According to the playstation & xbox stores the file size of the "expansion" coming out is only 10 MB That alone is enough to show we already have the content on the disc.
-
This confirms only that there are placeholders on the maps for future content. It does not confirm that the content is complete.
-
An image of icons on a map doesn't confirm that the DLC is on the disc, it just proves the icons for it are.
-
I blame Activision
-
To be honest, I dont see this as being on the disc or he would have cracked it to play said content. Map markers =\= Content. I highly doubt anything besides the markers is on the disc. So Im with holding judgement until someone can hack Im and play these levels.
-
prove they arent adding more then what you saw there that is all
-
But it's not on the disc, it's a bug due to the latest update, don't you think that people would have found this in the data on the disc during launch week? Clearly you're an idiot jumping to conclusions
-
I remember making a post on this topic when a group data mined the disc and tried telling everyone that it was already on the disk. Image my joy when the nay Sayers bubble popped. Delicious lol.

You guys realize Bungie doesn't have much say in the matter at this point right? Going to Activision and selling their souls with a ten year contract kind of decided that.. Bungie is the creative force behind destiny, but Activision plays gatekeeper, allowing certain parts in, cutting content out to sell later as dlc, taking away the 'open' world where 'everything you see is playable geometry, not just a skybox'.. While it's disappointing that Bungie folded under the titanic pressure that is Activision, and the legally binding contract, they didn't have much of a choice at that point.. If we hope to see what Destiny was intended to be (by the creative genius at Bungie, not the corporate heads at Activision) our best bet (which still isn't good) would be to pressure Activision, direct all of this outcry towards them, and hope that they give Bungie more freedom over their own IP in the future in attempt to save what's left of their reputation (Activision's).
-
(summary at base) have you considered that this is a place holder. it doesn't mean the missions are on the disc, or that this stuff is finished, there is not sufficient evidence here (or elsewhere I've seen a tad more in various other out raged hysteria posts), to suggest this is finished all this means is that they started working on it before release and put place holders in the director, there are also fragments of locked areas in the disc content this is likely as a place holder too, it doesn't mean the entire DLC is already on the disc in summary (as i know you people don't like reading): it is likely that the DLC was worked on before release, and this is merely place holder content, I wouldn't go throwing a tantrum till you learn more on what's on the disc, there are bits and pieces currently unavailable granted, but they will inevitable become available as time progresses (for example ghost shells)
-
Now watch, someone is going to ask a question about this in the weekly update, with many of us backing it up, and bungie is going to choose a question like "HOW DO I CREATE A GUARDIAN LOLOLOLOL"
-
Sad truth is this is the future of gaming. Blame the players that buy the "extra" content not the company. It's no different than halo or COD.
-
It is hysterically funny that you think because some kid glitches into some unfinished areas of the game, that it means that all the content is contained on the disc. Games are built in stages. These mission titles are obviously placeholders. I'm a little disappointed there wasn't more in the game at launch, but to act like you've all uncovered some vast bungie/activision conspiracy, please.
-
The reason half the story was cut was probably because of activision.

Edited by REXEL: 9/29/2014 6:23:57 PMSome of that wasnt DLC. The strike on the moon next to the summoning pits appears when you are doing the bounties for the thorn, and have to kill the wizard.
