I get where you're coming from. Do you have experience in MMO'S or are you a shooter kind of guy? The problems you're having are pretty common with new MMOs. Not a lot of content, recycled content, having a hard time getting over the loot hump. The only thing i can say is if you're willing to adopt an MMO mentality of patience and endurance, it really pays off. MMOs get really good when additional content gets put out. The expansions will really make this game into something special. I think the biggest reason this game is not liked is that it is an MMO but partially directed to a shooter audience. These two types of gamers have never had to come together before this game. There will be growing pains but i think it'll be worth it. short answer: play it like an MMO that doesn't have crappy controls and actually is fun to play :)

  • I am coming around. I laid off of it for a little bit and have come back at it with a renewed perspective, thanks in large part to the encouragement of all of you. Instead of focusing on all that's missing, I'm trying to focus on what's there. I cranked up the volume on my Turtle Beach's and let myself be immersed. I'm actually kind of astounded at some of the things that I have missed. I have never played an MMO really, other than Defiance, and I gave up on that after about a month, largely due to the signature event of the series, Arkfalls, being a laggy mess. A year later, even after I have moved to a new state and purchased a truly fantastic internet connection, I still have issues with that. Otherwise, I have never played an MMO for more than a few hours. I had a friend that got me to try a couple of them but I got pretty bored with them. I am largely an FPS and RPG player. For example, my favorite franchises are Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls (loved Morrowind), Battlefield, Halo, and Borderlands.
