Lol seriously. I predicted this from the beginning, before alpha. I said if you randomize drops, you are contradicting the very method you claim to pursue.   • I have friends who have been playing since the game came out and they barely have any legendary or exotic gear. A few of us wish we can help him out by trading so we can actually do the vault. The game has become a grind fest with no real solution insight.

          The whole game is a joke ... the back story about the fight for survival of the human race and the game has us harvesting bounty for our personal gain. At least the game matches its Teen rating. ([i]teen rated replies: 1[/i])

          • The RNG (loot) and trading (or lack of) systems: -Bosses should have loot tables associated with them. This way, even if RNG remains in place, there are only a set number of drops that would be randomly selected. -Crucible performance should have an effect on the rewards. -Strike performance should have a bearing on completion rewards. (usually, I kill most of the enemies in the strikes I run, but more times than not, I get worse items, if any, than the guy that kills the least) -There is no reason why we shouldn't be able to trade being as how the entire (minus a couple of queen's missions and a couple of story missions) reward system is based on RNG. Bungie wants us to "earn" our rewards and display them like trophies. Well with an RNG system the worst player can get something great while the best player runs around with crappy gear. There are no true rewards for doing well. The current system "rewards" players for just being. Time spent greatly overrides player skill when finding items. Not everyone has hours a day to spend on the game. Before the loot cave nerf, PC players could just write a macro to cave farm the entire time they weren't actively playing. (It's not hard, I've written them for other games.) How much pride can be taken from an item that was found by shooting into a beginner level cave because there are no restrictions on the quality of drops available there? How about a player that hides in a corner the entire crucible match but ends up with the best loot? There are some people that are so insecure and shallow that they feel the need to try to get ahead by exploiting a game in any way possible. These are the same people that have to cheat on other games to have some edge to win over other players. Removing these exploits would reduce the avenues in which players can choose the "lazy" way to play. Crucibles would have more active players if there were no possibility of completion rewards, aside from reputation and marks, for players that ranked 4th and below. Those items worth having should be found in more difficult areas like high level strikes, raids, and doing well in crucible. If I find an item in one of these areas that I can't use or isn't as good as my current item, I should be able to give it to a friend to help him along. We are "encouraged" to play in teams, but are forced to be stingy with our items.

            • Hmmm I did 3 exotic bounties I got 3 exotic weapons. I bought an exotic arm piece. And some RNG worked in my favor for decent weapons. I kicked ass in crucible and strikes and bought my armor set. I see no issues here.

                • Remove all the end match rewards and develop a lesser currency for people to use to buy green and blue engrams leaving them with a very very small chance at legendary while still giving them the main pvp currency per match. If you want a legendary, grind for it and earn it. :)

                    • they participated in the crucible. you dont know what their skill level is. not everyone is a crackshot quick scoping PvP badass my little strudel dumpling. So the fact thats its randomized who gets what. they still earn it for trying and participating. your jsut mad cause you get crap. This is in no way "trading" or "not earning"

                        It's messed up. I dont see why people should get blue or green, for a rare purple. Why the hell do you have it with specific colors, if it is not going to give the desired item? It feels horrible having to play for hours to get a shiny new jordans, just to be given a sock instead.

                            The earning is not in being given something just for doing something. it is earning items to be used to purchase said items from the vedors.. and that is where your logic is failing you. You were never meant to get the best items easily or quickly just for repeately doing the same things over and over again. Those tasks were to gain rep and currency for the vendors to go buy the items. Not have them be handed to you just for doing abx for xyz times in a row. The earning was in earning the currency to buy the items. Or else the vedors are pretty much pointless in the game.

                          • This is exactly what I was talking about the other day to some of my buddies. Bungie hypes up the gameplay by saying "Be brave and earn your loot." Then you realize.. I'm not earning S***. It's allllll based on luck. Not being brave. Not being good at PvP. Not relentlessly replaying missions for better gear. Just luck... Oh well. I sure am not gonna purposely fail at crucible though, I have my dignity. Lol.

                          • Originally, I was against the trading system, as I was lead to believe that you would earn certain pieces of gear, guaranteed, for completing specific tasks. But, now that I see that all loot drops are [i]entirely[/i] randomized, then I think trading would actually increase the longevity of this game. I'm not sure if I was misguided or if I just didn't understand.

                          • The biggest problem for me was their comment, "We want your gear to have a story" (not verbatim). Yeah, sure. I can tell you about how I ran reputation bounties, grinded marks, and then BOUGHT my first legendary. That was not exciting or rewarding. I ran low level content and eventually spent enough time to get gear. For a loot game, which is what they advertised this as, this is inexcusable. Why couldn't they introduce sidegrades? I'm not expecting it to rain purple and gold, but introduce gear bonuses that change the way I play a class. The gear ladder is purely dependent on the color.
