My question to everyone out there is whether you think space travel is necessary for humankind. Or should we first discovery all of earths mysteries or not go anywhere and just stick to earth keeping to ourselves?

Are you stupid? The earth isn't going to be perfect forever. Many things could turn this place upside down; asteroids, climate change, solar flares, nearby supernovas, our sun dying out. We need to find new worlds to populate if nothing else simply for the sake of survival.
-
Exploration and discovery is what drives us as a species. In every case, the societies that decided that what they had was good enough went extinct.
-
We need to be free from the trap of our own gravity well, or we shall surely end.
-
The grammar here is impeccable. I love it.
-
There are too many humans to bother with all of us focusing on just one frontier.
-
-
It's a patent fact that humans will have to eventually leave earth if we are to survive our inevitable death of our planet
-
I told you to lurk moar, now stop spamming this shit.

Why wouldn't we need to? Human expansionism. It's cool. BUT I wouldn't go about it all manifest destiny style, scout planets out befor you kill off the indigenous peoples living there. We don't need anymore North Americas.
