Quit Defending This Game
You're just feeding the fire. I was pleasantly surprised last week to see what this forum could become, which is a community of people helping others out with tips and tricks, talk of gameplay for those who actually enjoy it, and sharing of experiences. I thought all those who hate that we like this game had finally given up, but new ones have risen. No one is changing anyone's mind so let's help the haters move on by ignoring them. We, those who are enjoying the game, do not have to defend it from those who do not. Let's get back to building our community, please!

2 RepliesI have taken to simply ignoring the morons who seem to be intent on perpetually bitching about the game they supposedly hate. They almost always have 40+ hours in this "Horrible Game" yet they whine and moan about everything. I will simply sit back and enjoy the game.

11 RepliesTo be fair when you scratch the surface most of these haters haven't even played the game and some - a chap in another thread stopped playing back on the 16th Sept after getting to level 11 on one character - but still 8 days later thinks we need to hear how bad the game is... I'll take my own experiences over theirs. I've played solidly everyday when times been available to me. I've got three characters at 23, 22 and 20 now (I even re-rolled a level 16 to change the face - so I've put a fair amount of time into the game) and I have every intention to keep playing. I've put more hours into this than even gems like Last of Us. Bungie have created something special and the complainers don't like that. I just think that Bungie knew what target audience they were going for and I'm part of that. The low-attention-span crowd aren't the demographic they were aiming for. They'll move their rage elsewhere soon.

Can't wait to get Destiny back on my screen when I get home. I am amazed by the negativity but I guess there are so many people out there expecting a different game. This isn't COD guys. Personally I think Destiny is a masterpiece and is going to get better and better. Not bashing the young kids, but they probably just don't get it and the Internet is such a negative community these days. If you don't like it then leave Destiny. Don't tell me you didn't get your money's worth. Even if it isn't your favourite game it is hours and hours of playability. We have all bought other games and not finished them, only played them for a few hours or have been disappointed by them and moved on. This isn't the second coming but many of us love it. If you don't, then that is fine but why keep posting in a Destiny forum? Move on.

I think the main problem stems from people not being able to accept that if they don't like something it's possible others might have a different view. They then want to force their opinion of how the game should be onto others. I like Destiny, I have seen nothing from the dissenters to suggest there is a problem with the game - just a problem with their perception of what it should have been. Instead of Bungie working to appease people who don't like it, I think they'll spend the time doing what they planned to - to improve the game for those who do.

Asking either to stop is like pissing in the wind. What does need to happen is for mods to step up and take a tighter control of the forum.

99 RepliesMy only problem is that we all just dropped $60 for an INCOMPLETE game. And we're already being bugged to buy the expansions, just so we can finish the story we thought we were getting for $60, and get 2 more raids and strikes. It's a good game, but not a full game. Activision ripped players off to get the most money possible, and I don't really see how anyone can argue that.

I love the gameplay and art direction though just lacks anything resembling those mythical words story and content.

A bunch of new games coming out in October/November and you will see all those threads will disappear shortly. People who talking bs will move on and bitch in other gaming forums. No worries anymore..

6 RepliesReally, the people complaining really don't understand what Destiny IS. Bungie dared to break the boundaries of what we call shooters. This is an entire new thing for console gamers. They dared, and they achieved. They could have given us a fully grown redwood tree. A complete, edge to edge game, with 2 story DLC expansions. Instead, they gave us a sapling, and I trust that Bungie will water it endlessly until it's time to release its successor. This is a game of adventure and cooperation. Odds are, all of Bungie's notorious easter eggs haven't even been found yet. Let this game grow! Stop complaining because we all know you'll keep playing the game anyways.

But you do have to admit, the initial start has kinda hit a brick wall. Content feels...well it's short. Story missions are quick (except a select few that actually give you a satisfying feeling) and the strikes are 15-45 minutes in length if you don't rush it. This new event seems to only be limited to two missions and not much else on it. Cutscenes we saw during E3 confrences and such are non-existant in the end product. Customizing "your legend" seems even more narrow than we were led to believe, and I say this because I watched the presentation on how Bungie was going about creating "endless content" for equipment and weapons. I would hope the story would be longer and more info given to us during the game. There is so much backstory we don't even know yet that it kills me. You've been dead a few centuries only to be ressurected by a spikey orb who tells you "you're our only hope" and sent out with a busted rifle and a companion who seems just as confused as you are. Barely any backstory aside from what you learn along the way, and no place to really go to find any. But don't get me wrong, so far the game is amazing. It's direction is great and it's execution is good, though it needs more polish and follow through. I want this to be a game that I can come back to over, and over again.

Please for the love of god yes. Look to those who are crying to Bungie to "fix" the game. Please leave the game if you're so unsatisfied. Hell Gamestop will probably give you 15$ still. You kinda missed the 48hr deadline to return the game with full refund.

i agree with you we are feeding the fire but i made a post with my 2 cents in and i think its a very informitive post and i hope people actually read it this game is amazing yes there are some things that do need fixing (found about 6 glitches and game breaking bugs in a few missions) but not enough to turn me off this game i enjoy every second even when the cryptarch is stealing my legendaries

4 RepliesHey Buddy, Bungie.net forums are great! they have these AWESOME features like 'Like' 'Dislike' and Report posts! wicked huh! How does this effect you though? Well Destiny is 12 - 13days into Release, its a Child a baby that needs to be cared for, Beta was a Poor starting point to locating issues and bugs that occur. If players don't raise there concerns with the Developers then HOW would they know these issues occur and in what numbers they are occurring? Is it fair for someone to pay $60 - $120 on a game and only experience half the content you can cause your issue free and having the time of your life? If you find suggestions and issues that are addressed as a direct attack or rage that is completely unnecessary and you find offensive why not use the amazing features of Dislike and Report. Let these people post but filter out the aggressive crap by playing your part as a community member and using these tools. Kind Regards Fellow Guardian Justown

3 RepliesMy favorite tears are the ones about loot. If they just played the game with friends they would have already noticed that just playing and leveling your cryptarch, vanguard, and doing dailies and weekly strikes for FUN would already be netting you great legendary upgrades, even a free exotic every weekend but w/e. It's sad to see ppl want to reflex their own negativity on something they don't like immediately instead of having fun, more than not you discover it's better than what you were expecting and the systems are actually working as intended. Yeah nothing is perfect such game will never exist again, we have raised the bar to high from the days of Mario 3, Startropics, and FF2. And as weird as it may seem that i can get a blue/purple/yellow engram while helping my lvl 10 friend... well weird but working as intended so I am enjoying it regardless of things not been "perfect".
