Ascendant shards.....
The main thing that is driving me away from the game, is the fact that three pieces of my armor need ascendant shards to level up (21 more total) . The first week I probably found 13. Since then, zero. So I'm sitting on a bunch of gear that can't level up. I know it's supposed to be a grind, but at least give us a few missions that have a decent (1/5) chance of dropping an ascendant shard, otherwise we might as well be pissing in the wind. Do that with all the hard to find items. I don't have eight plus hours to put into this game daily, I have a family.
Make legendary turn into legendary, rare into rare, etc.
I can say I will not be buying any DLC if this doesn't change. I'll go back to Warframe where at least I have an idea where to find drops that I need.... And they also have alerts for those hard to find items, and DLC is free.
I'm not mouthing any other gamers, just the workings of the game, so I hope bungie sees this and I hope no childish idiots mouth me because I'm making a point and stating my opinion.
I bought a ps4 because of destiny, and I'm starting to become let down.
***Note: I have had helpful replies and I have some things to work on to get some ascendant shards, I appreciate all of your help.

They should guarantee the level of rarity at least, with a smaller chance of getting better gear and possibly an equal chance for materials. So a purple will give either a legendary or legendary materials with an equal chance for either or possibly, small chance, an exotic. It should never give you a lower rarity level. The drop chance of engrams could be lowered to balance it but at least this way you wouldn't feel robbed 8/10 times you hand in an engram.
