This isn't a real post, I just wanted to bring up a personal opinion of mine. To all the people saying, "If X, you have no life", what if video games are our life? I have been playing video games since I was 3, Pokemon Red baby. I have a girlfriend, a job, other hobbies. Video games however just happens to be my activity of choice. Some people can draw for hours, write poetry, skate whatever. Video games is my thing. So instead of me "having no life", I simply built my life around it. My girl is a gamer too and that's what we do together. Do you guys look through someone's sketchbook and say that they have no life? How about a triathlete who runs bikes or swims every day? Because what those people who claim others have no life are telling me is that to have a hobby that you love, is to have no life.

Stop pretending to create rant threads. You people are not original. You are not funny. You are not witty.

Started when dad gave me his Sears Telegames Jokari pong machine, I still remember the day we brought home the original NES. Now I have nearly 100 consoles and handhelds. These days when people ask and you say 'gamer' they bring up all the negative stereotypes. Sigh. My kids are better at Mario games than I am.

My gf and I are the same way..we have jobs and other hobbies but our favorite thing to do is chill and play video games. We just recently quit wow.

It's a common misconception of Right or Wrong. What something you see is right (Video games and other hobbies/passions you enjoy doing) Is seen as wrong by other people. It's perspectives and experiences. I would say agree to disagree and let the person live how they want too.

Been playing Halo since I was 3

I was born with a damned controller in my hand hah.. My grandmother owned a video game store when I was a tater tot in Cali. "Radical Videogames" shit doesn't get better then that. Playing so many games is what helped me read as a kid due to heavy dyslexia. Whine and bitch all you want but. Video games have plenty of perks and Pros so long as you're not letting them hinder you as a living being and you're not becoming a sloth melted into your sofa.

I beat Frogger 2: Swampy's Revenge at age 2 and still play games. I'm a no life according to some random people. Lol
-
Agreed. The irony of people that post things like this is that they log on to a gaming forum to tell people that they have no life.

I have been in this discussion with friends and family. Everyones hobbies are a complete waste of time in others eyes. I have a friend that insists vidoegames are a waste of time and would never let his kids play them yet there he sits on his Ipad in front of his tv watching sports 24/7. But that's not a waste of time in his mind. People are just narrow minded

I've been playing since Sonic 1 on the megadrive. I love games. I have a job, a wife and a 2nd kid on the way. If thats not a life I'd like to know what is.

One of many man. Also don't listen to other people, do what you want. I am in the same boat, married, employed and video games and sports are my two main hobbies.

A good point that, although made before, needed to be made again. As someone that has a fiancé that lives 90 minutes away (I see her once a week), commutes to school (full time student), works two jobs, volunteers every week, exercises regularly and still has a L26 Titan that's raid-ready... Yeah. I feel you. Well said.

People who troll the internet just to tell other people they have no life... they need to look in the mirror, lol. :-)

Agree man, Playing a game if u have some spare time, there is nothing weong with that. I would not consider myself the typical gamer steriotype haha.
-
I don't get it either man. Video games are the same as any other hobby and no one has a right to say that if you enjoy playing video games you have no life.
