Ok so Ive been on since beta. Old news flash. The game is already old news. Bungie I said this in several posts, this will be my last one for you guys til you drop some content worth playing. You dropped the ball badly. Fact is you created one of the most incredible franchises in the history of entertainment with HALO. Sold it, and built this, and came out of the door with a five hundred million dollar bank account backing you... with literally nothing to show for it overall. Your combat system is directly from Halo. You didn't even have to try in that department. Just put up rigging, get the animation boys in there with maybe some motion capture here and there... done. You're story, prologue, whatever you wish to call it is absolutely horrible. I work as a writer in Hollywood and have worked on substantial projects. In fifteen minutes I could have gotten a seven man team together to create a story worthy of actually playing as an introduction and first chapter to your franchise, and there would have been much more connection and diversity in the dialogue and actions of the player and NPC's. Your introduction story line is short, lacks substance, builds no relationships between any NPC's of any worth. You have developed the beginnings of no subplots to speak of. You have not built friendships or love interests to evolve. You have no player housing or any identity to the land and world that I spent LESS THAN 10 hours playing while I defeated THREE empires and saved The Traveler. Your world lacks any depth. The patrols ALWAYS drop in the same spot with the same number of bad guys in the same way, and same combination. There is no weather system. There is no NPC battles, not even other computer controlled guardians fighting other patrols. There is no EPICNESS TO YOUR GAME!!!!! There is literally 100 times more story and epic moments in any of your previous releases than in this, what is now your flagship! Its embarassing! You're PVP though fun because of your combat engines at work, is after two weeks entirely too repetitive and is now something to play momentarily on a lunch break or while waiting for dinner. I say this only now, after I have ground out enough rep with the Crucible to get the gear. And then gear. Your gear all looks relatively the same in game. This is in bad taste. Also, the gear is upgrade able.... BY ITEMS THAT AREN'T EVEN IN THE GAME YET! Gear drops are even more frustrating as the purple engrams have only once ever produced an actual purple item for me, out of about 15 drops and mail pickups, and are often for the wrong class! All the gear earned in Crucible and in PVE is less than the quality dropped after beating the game, EVEN ON THE HEROIC DIFFICULTIES. Which means you leave the player grinding for hours to get points for vanguard or Crucible, or whomever.... one problem. You guys limit the amount of points you can earn to less than the cost of two pieces of armor.... That is in incredibly bad taste to players which you are FORCING to grind the same levels, WITHOUT CHANGE over and over and over. So last night at about 3am, I finally got some legendary Crucible gear, and bought my helm from the special vendor.... and now what? Go grind more gear?..... Nope. Not happening. Because every single set of end game gear has the same stats pretty much. Its a giant time trap with almost NO payoff. Lastly, your attitude about your game is pretty disgusting as a company. I know you have all your eggs in one basket here, and if you screw up too badly then Activision will own you forever.... but lets be honest... you know what you released and came out the gate with here. And no amount of expansion packs is going to completely allow you to recover. Especially these really crappy excuses for new content, which still do not drop the items needed to upgrade elite and legendary gear sometimes. You need to address the unhappiness with your product as well as the happiness. This little display I see going on, on your posts and on the forums where you guys refuse to address the problems with your game is not a good sign to anyone who has worked in entertainment development before. Nor is it a good sign to long time veteran gamer's; as the ignoring of issues that matter to the overall well being of sustaining a player base, are often the signs of a quick decent into darkness for a franchise. It is a business posture of lacking confidence. We know where the bullshit lays, we're playing it. You know where it lays, you developed it and watched it leave your hands and into the player's. Tell us what you are doing to fix it, or man up and say, "sorry, thats all there is" As for this game. Im done for now. It wasnt worth the time and money. I would honestly give it a 5 out of 10. Not because it wasnt fun while it lasted at times, but because there simply isnt much fun to be had. And for a next gen title, it pushed NO envelopes to speak of and delivered almost NOTHING overall to show off. But, it was the only thing out. By the time EA lands inquisition, and we see The Witcher 3 and 1886 or whatever it is, you will be pretty much done here and had better have something lined up. There are SO little people playing this game late at night, that there is sometimes a several minute wait to fill at 12 man roster, and of 20 matches last night 7 of them were 4 or 5 vs 6. That is a bad statistic. Right now it I am logged on and there aren't even enough guardians in the Tower to fill the player list in the tower. You yourselves said that the average player is playing 3 hours a day, and on the weekends four..... that is a HORRIBAD statistic. When you released Halo, I know people that took work off to play that all day the next day! As it stands, this game will NOT stand the ten year test. I would give destiny 2 years tops before it is as barren as multi-player in an older Halo. I had fun with the community and playing PVP for the most part. But on to better things. I suggest if you are in the middle of a grind for gear, finish it, and then do the same. peace.
