I want a trade system, or something like it, but with a limiting factor so people don't just farm and give gear to low level characters for Real life cash. What I would prefer is some kind of auction hall, where you would put gear up for sale ( with a default minimum price, depending on the gear) and people bid on it.

Good thought but glimmer is kind of pointless. Not much it's used for and it's so easy to get. That might cause inflammation or inflation, whatever the term is. Lol

I'd sell a legend if it saved me an hour or two of farming; we don't need glimmer at all except ammo and that occasional little bump to level the cryptarch. I also don't like the idea of legend for legend, exotic for exotic. All I need to progress is more raid hear and some exotic weapons (all I have is invective). I'd LOVE to trade a few legends (or ascendants) for a last word or hawkmoon. I'd give less for a gun i desire less, ie any non-HC. I hate snipers. I would bid on an auction accordingly. My suggestion: You can set a minimum bid. If I'm auctioning that super rare exotic that Xur doesn't sell (sunbreaker!) then I could request 4 legends (maybe specific ones, or at least classes), or 20 mats, or another exotic. Or I could set an auto-buy (a hawkmoon, or a piece of raid gear). An auction system would work, especially since it limits the ability to wantonly sell for cash-if you agree to sell a Third Man for $20 and 1 bloom in game and someone catches the autobuy before the money buyer does, it's gone.

Inflation.

Right. Seems like glimmer should be put to more use, that and raise the cap above 25k

They'll probably nerf it like everything else.
25K is too OP!
