Because farming gives you the same amount, if not, more loot then you would in a strike or whatever. Why go through the trouble of constantly dying, leaving teammates, and bullet sponge bosses when you have an easier time getting 5 times the rewards farming the cave.
Don't deny it, YOU KNOW ITS TRUE!!!

Edited by jaybizzle704: 9/22/2014 5:45:12 AMI tried farming today. It truly sucked. I got nothing but blues. Collected my blue balls and then went back to doing patrols. Reached a new vanguard level and got legendary gear. Me n loot cave aren't on good terms. Lol.

Than what's the point of playing destiny that just kills the game.... Why not enjoy playing the game for once

Some people seem to be understating the popular farming methods You can easily in a hour get 4 purples and a cryptarch ranks that rewards you with even more. Then you add in the Glimmer, Then you add in the perks and abilitys being unlocked quickly, then you add in the warsat you get to defend every other run.

I've never been in a strike mission where I constantly die, unless I'm majorly under leveled...

Because we all gotta eat?

I tried farming for about two hours once to see if it actually worked. I got one legendary engram but that was it. However, after a few hours of fun (keyword fun) gameplay in the Crucible I have almost a full set of legendary armor from spending Crucible Cash. Farming just doesn't seem worth it.

Bungie wants us to farm or else they wouldn't put caps on every other God damn way to get resources. Marks? Oh only 100 a week. Nightfall/weekly strikes? Yeah you only get rewarded once a week

Probably because strikes, the Crucible, patrol(when you're not farming) are much more fun than staring at a hole in the wall and shooting whatever comes out of it.
