YOU WANNA KNOW WHY WE'RE FARMING!!??
Because farming gives you the same amount, if not, more loot then you would in a strike or whatever. Why go through the trouble of constantly dying, leaving teammates, and bullet sponge bosses when you have an easier time getting 5 times the rewards farming the cave.
Don't deny it, YOU KNOW ITS TRUE!!!

4 RepliesFor everyone that thinks random crucible rewards is somehow more "earned" than farming, you fail. At least the farmers KILLED something. You can AFK and get random rewards for PvP.

Not going to lie, I farm. I work 70 plus hours a week and I just don't have the time to do all the strikes. I haven't gotten anything better than blues yet but, because of all the hours I work it's hard to find people to do strikes with and I'm not even strong enough to attempt the raid yet. Farming helps. Not everyone has time for all the stuff destiny offers. I wish I could though, I love this game... :(

Been doing it in every mmorpg since the early 90s when you cap and all the other things to do become just as repetitive as shooting in a cave, may as well shoot in the cave...

Wanna know why I farm? Because this game sucks dick at rewarding people for playing it a lot and being skillful. If I ever get an exotic in this game that's actually worth it, it would be too soon.

1 ReplyI'm clad in an exotic and legendaries and have the exotic weapons and like six legendary and have yet to farm. Also I've broken down maybe ten plus legendaries also. It's not hard if you just play to have fun. Farming is in every game but you have to know all other games don't let you kill beginning mobs for end game gear.

I like variety so for me patrolling an running around the world, or strikes is more enjoyable. Just me though.

Lets see what the options are: 1. 100 vangaurd Marks max per week, which can be obtained through strike playlist or public events in as little as 4 hours. GUARANTEES at least 1 Legendary a week. 2. Farming for an Hour or more anywhere with massive enemy spawns, lots of item drops, chances of a legendary during the drops, chances of legendary while decrypting, chances of legendary after leveling Cryptarc. 3. Loot chest runs, same as above, but you also get materials and chances at loot mobs do not drop (ships) Now tell me what the difference is between those options. Either way you look at it, its still farming. You might not have fun doing one of those, but there are others that do. Different strokes for different folks, etc.

I just want to play destiny how I want, when I want. Farming when I'm short on time helps get cryptography leveled and strikes/raid when I have lots of time for the fun of it. People just need to do what they want, and stop complaining about what others do. It's a game just have fun doing whatever you find fun.

You said the following "Why go through the trouble of constantly dying, leaving teammates, and bullet sponge bosses" So what you are saying is that you are farming the stuff to then go and do exactly the same thing you moaned about above but on a more difficult level. It seems to me that you should stop playing full stop.

I'd been hearing about this for a while and decided to check it out with my Exo Warlock. Arrived at the cave to find a Titan with some awesome looking gear blasting away. Joined in for a while and within a few minutes got my first blue. Before long a Hunter turned up, waved at me and I waved back and we carried on. Got a few more engrams before a Defend the Warsat dropped in right behind us, the three of us blasted away at that before going back to the cave. I went back to the Tower and cashed in my blues, all turned into greens, thanks Cryptarch. Then I checked the Postmaster, Legendary Engram in lost items, cashed it in expecting more coins or Motes of Light and got the Astrolord Gloves. Today was a good day.

2 RepliesBecause farming is all thats left to do in this piece of shit game. Story: What story? Strikes: Repetative and take too long... Not challenging either, just annoying. Raid: Sure... If you just so happen to have 5 other friends who are all maxed out with legendaries and exotics who also just so happen to all be online at the same time because apparently they have no life and can devote a whole day to one -blam!-ing game mode! PvP: Worst I have ever played. Bungie didn't even try with this one and should be ashamed. Not only is it boring and unbalanced but it isn't even competitive due to the lack of a ranking system! Patrol: Nothing to do but farm.

I prefer to do both Strikes and Farming. Usually I do farming if I'm by myself, late at night with my dinner (Which is really relaxing). So I get to relax and get loot, win win situation. Strikes are when I have my friends all together, and we are looking for a nice challenge.

10 RepliesBecause the RNG is terrible and is one of the worst I have ever seen. Firstly Crucible, you can AFK and still get loot while top players get nothing. Secondly, Strikes and Raids people who join 5 minutes before the end can leave with legendaries while others leave with materials (don't defend materials, if I wanted them I could dismantle the loot to get them). Thirdly, the fact Legendary Engrams do not give a higher percentage chance for legendary equipment. A legendary engram should be atleast 75% chance of legendary equipment it should not give uncommons, materials, OR rares. Fourth, the RNG for Random class should be removed the equipment should be for your characters class.

I'm farming because I hit the weekly vanguard cap. Playing strikes is virtually pointless after you hit the cap.

11 RepliesYou know why I don't farm? Because I like to actually earn my gear. I don't sit in front of an exploit/farm area because it's too "hard" and takes to long to do it normally. They're called "legendary" for a reason. It's boring, not fun, and just ruins the game's purpose. I want to earn my gear, and say,"yeah, I got that from the VoG" or some crap. Lol, people aren't going to be impressed by your legendary when they find out all you did to get it was sitting in front of a cave, killing the same exact enemies, over and over and over again...for hours and hours and hours.
