I have decided to go with a Titan for destiny but don't know if I want to use striker or defender any ideas?
-
Its really depending on the situations, both classes have their use in PvE or PvP.
-
PvP = Striker PvE = Defender (Great for High lvl stuff)

It really depends on how you want to play your game, there are multiple ways you can play each subclass for an example my primary focus is that of an orb generating Defender class. I have gear that focuses on intellect/strength to allow for shorter cooldowns on supers and FB. The playstyle means a lot of close combat and aims to get the FB up then litrally smack the light out of everyone you see. The ward helps with an extra set of lights for team. Then again I could play the same subclass as a walking juggernaugt, by selecting the FB to continually recover, set my ward to boost my weapon damage and extend its duration. So I can go out with extra shields and a boosts to my weapons and start hitting hard. More of a solo sort of build. PvP if you can get your hands on an exotic helmet that blinds people who enter your bubble that opens up alot of suprise gameplay possibilities. Or there is a chest piece that allows 2 grenades every cooldown which is great for the magnetic grenades that stick to people. Focusing on a discipline build and a good weapon that helps with grenade cooldown would allow you to spam more often. You can tell i'm a defender can't you. Not really a PvP player though if I ever get that chest piece I may consider getting the last build.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. I'm a defender, but I do miss an offensive super. With that said, your shield comes in handy. It's saved me more times than I can count.
-
I loved defender at first, great support and defense skills. You can have extra dmg resists and get orbs like mad, great in group PvE and objective-based PvP. Then I bought an exotic helmet that gives me a few extra striker perks...haven't gone back to defender since but I might for raiding and nightfalls. Both are fun and you can swap at any time.

The big thing about Defender is the amount of Orbs of Light you can generate for your team.
-
Love both. Typically go with defender though. :) I play a lot of control in crucible and it's amazing. The only thing that scares me in my shield is a titan striker running in to havok me. xD
-
In PvE unless going for a bounty I use defender. In PVP I use striker for regular and defender for objectives...
-
Use both depending on the situation.
-
use both. thing about destiny is you can switch classes at any time.
-
Here's the honest truth, the only way to play Titan PvP is to use the striker class and have the RB charge one hit sprint melee equipped and just run around having the time of your life
-
striker
-
Both are great!

Edited by ATPsynthase12: 9/22/2014 7:23:31 PMDepends on your play style, I play as a defender and I'm usually in the top 3. Works perfect when your getting swarmed in PvP. Just pop the sheiks up let your health regen then step out with that over shield and own the other team. It's perfect when you have one charge you too. I've taken 2 melee hits and a shotgun blast inside the bubble and thanks to the high damage resistance perk I killed all three of them. When you use this play style though you're better off defending points instead of taking them

I have maxed out both trees each is good for different thing
-
Guys you are silly saying defender is bad pvp. Proof! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV3bMj2-Q_c Have fun being a complete thorn in a teams side on control day in crucible!
-
Depends on the situation. Striker is a good idea for crucible, but Defender is really good for high level strikes and the VoG Raid.
-
Striker is good for solo or pvp play, defender is amazing at group play.
-
You can level your alternate fairly quickly. Just do both until you are at a point you can choose properly.
-
Strike is more of an agressive "I want to decimate the battlefield" kinda player. Whereas defender is well... Defensive. If you are good at staying alive defender is great for strikes or such if you are in a sticky sitatuion and want to live or if you need to revive a teammate in a bad spot. In the later though warn them that once the shield is done they will most likely die because of the concentrated fire on that area. If you are doing matches such as clash or rumble I highly suggest striker. But if you are doing matches like salvage or conquest defender is great for you to cap those objectives. For defender though I would highly suggest you keep the inside shield bonus health and get used to meleeing enemies that are dumb enough to get close to you. Or get good with a fusion rifle and charge inside and pop out last second to shoot them (can be highly dangerous though because it gives a split second where you are exposed). Also be aware that titan smashes are able to do their animation, land in your shield, and kill you. Also bladedancers are quite pesky (as you will soon figure out) if yo use defender super.

Defender。。。。it‘s good。。。

Defender

Defender is must for raids.
-
Defender, cuz its good for pve and pvp, helps the team and u can have a badass kill streak if ur good at pvp
