The common defense to a failed piece of art. The fact is there's very little to get, so don't try to ascribe some mystical quality that only the Truly Enlightened (read: apologetic fanboys) could understand.

What I meant to say is that you have a negative attitude towards this game because its not what you expected. I think in a few months alot of people will feel differently about this game, Bungie is doing the right thing by making sure this game runs properly before adding all the content. There is still alot of content to come apart from the expansions. Also the expansion pass was $10 on top of the regular edition so I am not really sure what everybody is complaining about with that. Probably one of the cheapest expansion passes out there. Bf4 is a perfect example of how much more complicated games are now and that they need to be tested and made right before giving the consumer too much. In house testing just isnt enough for these big scale games anymore. This game is far from a failure, there is plenty of fun too be had so cheer up.

  • Battlefield 4 wasn't an MMO RPG, it was a first person shooter designed pretty much solely for online play. Destiny shouldn't even have a paid expansion within 6 months of it being released, we should still be going through all the other strikes and missions. I pay $65 for 30 or so missions, and then have to pay again for more a month later just to be able to do something new? that's ridiculous. I love the game, but the lack of multiplayer maps and variation of the missions isn't what I was told I would be getting.

I was using BF4 as a reference of how not to release a game and how I think Bungie are doing the right thing with Destiny. Also you can call Destiny any Genre you want but I think the problem people are having is that they were expecting an online Skyrim in space. I think this game should be compared to FPS games rather than RPGs. $65 is cheap compared to what every other country pays and there is far more content in this game than many other titles out there.

  • We were told it was going to be a fps mmo with rpg elements. I'm not expecting skyrim, but I am expecting more playable strikes, and at least a couple more pvp maps, I don't want to have to pay more money just to be able to finish the campaign. just because I'm getting it a little bit cheaper doesn't mean it's okay to release an unfinished game.

  • Yeah I get your point but I really think peoples expectations are clouding their judgement of what this game is. How many MMOs are released with all the content in week one? How may MMOs have a game engine as good as Destiny? All MMOs I have ever played have a terrible engine where the character looks tacked in the game world, your feet dont actually interact with the ground and the collision detection looks like an 80s WWF pay per view, the controls are done by clicking or pressing a number. I think most people heard MMO and were expecting an MMO RPG

  • Don't get me wrong, I really love this game and I'm not going to stop playing anytime soon, I just wish that they would have released more content for free at the beginning. because I've done every strike and mission at least twice now. I don't like rerunning through all the same stuff, it just becomes redundant and boring. but I completely agree with you, their engine is awesome and I'm excited to see what's to come.

  • Well I really hope this all turns out as you say it will, but at least I'm ready when it doesn't.

  • This is my first Bungie game but from what I have been told they are a solid team so I am confident that this game will be great when we finally get all of it.
