I don't think it is high fantasy. But more mythological in nature i've made several posts on this without response. But it references a lot if mythology across a ton of cultures. Also the ancient motif of dark vs light is very plain to see. I make refrence to the ancient duality of light and dark. Not our modern interpretation of this.

I'll try to find your posts. Or post a link in response. Maybe my title wasn't quite right. I wasn't so much equating Destiny to fantasy, just saying that at the beginning of the hero's journey, the hero is in the dark.
