Bungie has been telling us from the start how hard they have been and are going to be working on this game and how much they love the game and the us, the community. but to me it just seem like the just don't give a f*ck and only care about the money.(just needed to get this of me, still a good game but it could have been done so much better)

  •
Would like to see others make a game of this caliber
I've seen better games with a much smaller team. Bungie has 500 people working on it!

  • I was referring to the ppl complaining about their money they spent on the game.., and saying what did they spend all that money on n stuff. The complainers need to make a game.

  • 500 ppl still require checks. Plus a smaller team canake better small games Cus u can weed out shitty workers. 500 ppl u say. I bet only 100 are great at there job or less. Not always bigger is better.

  • And how dare u compare a mmofps with an mmo that's almost dead. Like saying. Ffiv is the same as ffiv realm reborn. Ones dead. Ones not.

  • Cough. U didn't make any of them. And the only long term MMO. U mentioned is wow. I played from vann. To cata. Games far from over. Been like 14 days and everyone's anxious for more. That's good but damn. Peeps. Chill out on calling if failures. Blands is nice. But did type of genre.

That's how this thread started, I needed to vent. It's still a good game, and fun to grind through (even if that's really all there is to do right now), and I want Bungie to make it better. If they already have serious plans to do so that don't require hundreds of $$$ worth of DLC, then more power to them; if this just ends up being a cash-grab, I'll drop it like it's a hot turd. Hey, there's always The Division to look forward to being disappointed by next! :D (Cheap shot, but frankly deserved right now...)

  • If you like the Rainbow Six series then I think its probably safe to say that the Division is less likely to disappoint... but then again I thought Bungie was providing something other than what they shipped and what they shipped feels really half baked in many ways.

  • I'm not concerned about the gameplay in The Division (from what we've seen), but the content availability and replayability, and the implications they've made of the scope of the game. That word is the big beef I currently have with Destiny. Replayability =/= repetition.

  • Agreed. That is true of a lot of "open world"ish games or ones that claim to be open world. Not everyone can do the Rock Star level of GTA IV/V or Red Dead Redemption or Bethesda's Skyrim. I have to kind of attach a similar disappointment with Destiny to Elder Scrolls Online. At least Destiny doesn't have a subscription. TESO is a huge let down from a quality stand point and a much poorer game than Destiny and perhaps more disappointing.

  • One of my big gripes is the lack of scaling enemies, an issue I see in a lot of these games (ESO also lacks this, I believe, as will The Division, much to my disappointment). Mere numbers are not the reason to continually level your character; you also unlock new abilities, new ways of playing the class. That is supposed to give you new tricks with which to drive back the otherwise even-footed Darkness... except with a lack of scaling. It's gotten to a point where if I so much as think about farting in the general direction of the Cosmodrome, legions of Dreg will just self-immolate. Mars can still be challenging at times, and Public Events are tough regardless; Strikes don't scale, but there are various leveled difficulties to choose from. But a big part of the game is just going out and starting trouble in freeroam. When the enemies are far below the player numbers wise, it almost makes it pointless to bother going back except for bounties. Now I understand this creates some issues for players encountering each other in freeroam: a level 5 meets a level 25 in the Cosmodrome, so how do enemies scale? Down to 5, or up to 25? Or maybe somewhere in the middle, around 15? I guess my thinking goes that freeroam could be entered much like the Strike playlists: you pick a level range to play in. That way you can be fairly certain that when an event starts, you can expect support from a player of close level; it also would keep the lower levels from being overwhelmed by highly scaled enemies, and the higher levels from being turned into Darkness-eradicating gods.

  • Scaling is hard to do in an online game without instituting phasing. Phasing can be done well but is often not. I will say that World of Warcraft did a great job of phasing in Wrath of the Lich King to alter areas and difficulties but in a non subscription game there is a lot of overhead that would never be paid for.
