Penalty to quiters

Hi there Bungie community. Everything was going just fine since the relese of the game, but in the last two days I found a nasty problem in strikes. You have the matchmaking for the high level strikes and that's fantastic. Being able to play with complete strangers for the greater good. The problem is, when you are fighting through the hordes of darkness and one of your teammates leaves. Or both of them. That can happen at the very beggining of the strike. Maybe it wasn't the strike that he/she wanted. But the rest of the fire team has to get through without one or two of the members. And you know, shit happens. You die and have to restart again. I know that sometimes someone can join your server, but it doesn't happen allways. I know that people has a life, plans or urgencies. But if you know that maybe you can't finish the mission you shouldn't start it, because your team needs you and more in the high level strikes. So a way to punish people for quiting during strikes would be nice. I know there should be some rules, like no penalty if your fireteam was defeated and some other examples. But some way to prevent players from just leaving people behind. It's kinda frustrating when you're killing the Archon in Venus, 80% of the health removed and one of your team members quit just because they got killed and I couldn't get close to revive them. (He didn't even wait the 30 seconds...) Anyone that has a better idea?

  • Instead, why not make it easier to have the system fill those spots in with others? It has happened to me a few times but is pretty rare. Some may prefer to do the whole thing, but on the other hand you can do the strike in less time which has benefits for those that are just running them for loot and all that.

  • People leave when they feel that either they are not doing well or because someone is not doing well. Its an intolerance that unfortunately has existed for a LONG time and there are not many ways to prevent it. The real issue is that unless your put those randoms on your friends list you can't talk. No communication usually results in a bad experience all around. So until Bungie can fix this and provide a way to communicate in your fire team without being on your friends list I think that any sort of penalty is unwise. Also the matchmaking sucks. You can't talk to people or view them prior to launch or talk to them. You just get tossed planet side and are expected to follow DinkleBot to your appointed spot and hope for the best.

    • Maybe they quit because they got disconnected. Ever thought about that? Happens a lot of times in this game.

      • There should be a time out so if you quite you can't join another one for like 3 hours then people would stop.

      • Why would you leave? People who do horrible seem to have a better chance at getting loot than the top of the scoreboard people.
