I don't care how "legit" you think you are...
Eventually you will farm. It's inevitable. You will sit in front of a cave or in a small area or in front of some mighty doors and you will pour thousands of rounds of ammo into enemies until you get what you need to get/upgrade your legendaries/exotics. You'll do it in your big boy pajamas. You'll do it fully clothed. You'll do it in your tighty-whities. You'll do it eating food or listening to music or drinking a soda. Either way, you'll do it and you'll like it... all night long.

I don't judge people for how they play the game. If you want to shoot bullets in to a black hole, more power to you. I just don't see how it's more efficent than just playing. I seem to be progressing just fine by playing. Some say things like strikes are boring, pvp is unbalanced, etc I'm just curious what exactly are you looking to do in this game? I mean it's only been out a week, if you already find strikes/patrols boring, maybe this isn't the game for you?

I have been farming like crazy! Farming Strikes.... and dailys.... And weekly's.... And Nightfall's.... And Raids... And Crucible... With the end game so close to the start... who needs farming.

That said I run circles around that exact area as that's my chest/spinmetal farming area which means after ducking into the room in the complex to your left I do have to jump over your cave to make my circuit behind it, so if you ever see me I'm not trying to troll you or anything, I'm just "legit" farming my way. Otherwise what you do with your time is none of my business

Farm...don't farm, in truth it doesn't matter. To each their own way for getting items. Grinding missions down isn't all that different really, pumping the crucible for the good stuff while building up your rank...it's all good enough to accomplish the same thing finding Legendary and Exotic toys while we wait for an event or a DLC to drop.

9 RepliesI have yet to farm and have been doing just fine. Plus I've only played half the story so materials won't be too much trouble. Then I can hit the raid for the last bit of gear and rock out in the Crucible till more new content drops

Farming, is an integral part of role playing games. If you went back one time, to redo a mission you already done, guess what? You were farming for xp. You think bungie doesn't know that people are running loot chest routes and redoing missions? It's there, to respawn, for a reason. Don't remember where I read it, but it was from Bungie themselves:"The more hard work you put in, the more you'll be rewarded." (Paraphrased of course) Every RPG you've played you've farmed. What's in ethical is not doing it.

Lol @ people who call farming cheating. It was the purpose of the game from day 1 when bungie made the map designs. This crap was thought about and planned. This is traditional mmo farming. You losers calling this cheating arent real gamers. You grew up in the boring cod days where actual game content doesnt exist.

lol you don't think farming is legit? Get on any MMO and you will farm at some point. If you collect any sort of spin metal..you are farming. If you play a zillion strikes/raid/pvp. You are still farming.

i earned all my gear "legit" and i still farm for 10 minutes now and again. i never get anything from it but its a fun little lottery to play every once in a while

And you're still spending a ton of time playing the game so it's not like you're being heavily rewarded for not doing much of anything.

Well considering each person paid for the game, they can aquire what ever they need how ever they want. I prefer to run around. Sitting still dosnt work for me. But hey im not gonna crucify ya for sitting at the cave. Have fun its your time t spend.
