Reviews are glorified opinion pieces that are taken as gospel by the gaming community. There is no "right" review. The amount of controversy on destiny and the amount of people actually playing the hell out of this game spit in the face of Kevin Van Ords [b]opinion piece[/b]. Everyone I've met and made friends in the game LOVE destiny as much as I do. So saying that the reviews are "right" is total hogwash.

Thats bullshit man I loved halo because I felt immersed in the story and now in destint im left with more questions then are being brought to light. I dont know why im killing aliens other than they work for the darkness I see no battle along the wall around the city so why is it in danger, what is the traveller, why all of this cryptic -blam!-ing dialog everywhere, what happened during the collapse, why was my guardian dead, why did my ghost choose me, why was i dead in old russia, why are these aliens fighting eachother, what is the darkness, why do I feel theres no story at all, why are there so little cut scenes, why is the tower different than the reveal trailer, why am I doing all of these missions with so little intel, why do I not see other guardians, I feel alone in the story why is that, why does my goddamn ghost trip every single alert system across the solar system and invite enemies from miles away to fight me, why does my ghost think I wamt to fight all of the really dangerous enimes hardcore officers and confidants, why do all missions and strikes play out the same go to point a, b, c and defend against waves of enemies then kill a boss at the end?!? Why is there no stelth? Why is there no mission variety, why is there a strong star wars feeling but flies past the mysteriousness with benign dialog that tells me nothing, 9h and dont forget all of fhis stupid humor in game. Yeah im pissed and the reviews got it right ghis time this game is all hype it plays well the best ive ever seen but tells a story in the shittiest way possible. You obviously cant see that the lack of story and content is not immersive in any way shape or form. No emeotional connect either because oh wait.....no great characters either everyone is flat and no exolanations and so is everything else in this game.

It's sad that so many gamers can't seem to interpret anything that's not shouted in their face. The questions left open will obviously be answered later. None of that matters in the scope of what it's trying to accomplish. At least to me.

So then tell me.......what is it trying to do? Because theres no story what so ever to explain what its trying to accomplish. Its trying to tell a story with 6 cutscenes that tell me that humanity was great and was besieged and saved by a giant floating sphere and now im thrust into combat throughout the solar system for no reason not even given a reason about why im doing it till 5 missions after im brought back. Even then its unclear what my purpose is and why does no one try to telk me the story even my mentor doesnt do anything but give me armor and tell me to go shoot stuff and do this. No variety in missions at all is the worst part. I know content will be coming out monetly to further the story and expand the areas on each planet but goddamn no story just kills this game.

I love how when someone effectively points out why the story is shit, and you wannabe Bungie Fanboys resort to fracking "grimoire cards" What Bungie did with that was lazy. To force us to have to leave our console after the event of unlocking occurred to go to our PC to read 3 sentences on the back of a digital card is insulting. And the fact you have to go to your PC instead of them being accessible through the game shows they were an after thought after they realized their game's story was so barebones it made games like CoD: Ghosts story sound good. When I'm playing Solo, I have no motivation to go through the game other than to get loot so I can help my friends with strikes and the raid. No connection to the supporting characters such as The Speaker, The Stranger, or even your Ghost. Yeah, playing with friends is fun, but due to constricting schedules, we can't all play together at the same time. And with no proximity chat, I can't try to strike up a convo with another player to see if they would like to play, making this probably the most anti-social multiplayer game I've ever owned. I could go on for hours telling you why Bungie dropped the ball here, considering I own ALL of their Halo games and know how well they did when they were in their prime, but it's no use because it's currently "cool" to go against the popular opinion and ignore facts and just blindly follow something, hence why you're being a new age Bungie fanboy.

It's just a backdrop for a sandbox. It's a fun shooter with fun progression mechanics, and a fun pvp experience. That's why I play it. That's how it was designed. Why are people looking for a deep story and then tossing out the rest of the game like trash? This is an excellent fun to play game. The point is getting better gear, hanging with your friends, trying harder challenges, etc. It's not about some gripping story experience. That is not the focus of this game and I hope it never will be.
