Would be nice. Here's something else to think about.
I think that it would be nice to move all of the emotes to one button (say left), have ammo consumables (on down), have glimmer consumables (on right), and a "hold to tower" (as up). Say like I want to do an emote (wave): I would press left to activate the emotes and then I would press up to wave. If I needed ammo for my heavy I could press down followed by right. For glimmer boost for cabal; I would press right followed by left. Lastly put the same time needed to go to orbit as a hold for up that would take me (and fireteam) to the tower. Thoughts?
All consumable buttons would still have to be held down the same amount of time as is currently needed to use.

I like this, but I think you could streamline it more by having you hold down the d-pad button and press one of the other 4 on the right to complete a given action. Like left+triangle for wave or whatever.

I was thinking of having a pop-up with an opaque D-pad that is visible when a D-pad button is pressed. Then to use the consumable you would hold down the corresponding button until the "use wheel" is complete. That way you can still look around for incoming attackers.

That makes sense, I guess, it just seems like it would take longer. Not as long as going to a menu, but when I need to victory dance after a raid or some nice Crucibling (rarely happens, but I did have a nice Rumble match last night), I want immediate satisfaction, dammit!

For the emotes; it would only take two quick button presses. That wouldn't change much from the way that it is now.

I love the new glass vault mission. I think it would be really cool to have some smaller strike missions where fireteams race to complete the mission faster than the other team. Like make it 10 rooms or something and put a couple bosses in there and make it 3 member random or partied fire teams. Have a tracker that tells you what room your opponent team is in. It could be like a competative strike option in the crucible or something. Just an idea for another style of missions. As we all have learned getting to level 20 is easy but after that we have to grind it out. These PVP strike missions would be a way to farm and have the competition at the same time. If your going to have to do a lot of farming in destiny why not make it fun.
