Because of this advantage, Bungie has decided against allowing cross-generation play in Destiny. This is a strange decision considering the FPS (arguably more important than resolution) has been impacted by cross-generation development. As someone who has friends spread across both the 360 and xbone, I would really enjoy playing an "MMO" with all of them, especially in a PvE setting. I see no reason why implementing PvE cross-platform play would negatively affect any player's experience. I know it would significantly improve my own. And, with the pacing and current balance issues that PvP possesses (which are slight, but certainly outweigh a sniping advantage because of increased resolution), I don't see how cross-platform PvP would make a significant impact comparatively. This game requires people to party up for all game modes; with console overlap clearly being demonstrated by Bungie's release across 4 platforms, the game needs to adapt to it's player base, not wait for them to catch up to their friends with a ~$500 purchase. I find generation segregation a poor decision when weighed against the vision of Destiny, especially when cross-generation play is technically easy to implement (see linked article). Thoughts?

 • I absolutely agree. I have over 6 friends playing Destiny on the 360, when I'm the only out of that group who plays it on the Xbox One. I also, see no reason why this would not be implemented, if it's true that they said it is indeed, very easily implementable.
