We just cut the umbilical cord people. The new born isn't even 10 days old. It sounds to me the people who are complaining about story are the same type of people who reads the back of book covers to decide if it's good or not.

Combined arm? Queen's Wrath? Just like I said, they have a schedule all lined up. I have not seen or played any game that push out new game play and short story / quest in console games. If anyone else has, feel free to name them. Like i said man, just give the game sometime. This is pretty awesome. I wish they'd do a vehicle race through the interior of the planet or something. A race/chase-ish gameplay would be fun too I think.

I've been reading other post in the forum and found many opinions. Some compare Destiny to MMO titles like WOW and also open sandbox like Skyrim. From what I read and trailers I've seen, I don't think Bungie ever said it was a MMO or a sandbox game. It was careful to use expansive which is open for interpretation really. There's lot more I can say about this topic but I think overall people who are unsatisfied by the game so far are victims of the overhyped. This happens a lot with movie goers / critics, too.

Book jackets sell books because you KNOW that the hundreds of other pages you are buying will tell the story. The webpage for Destiny is the book jacket and promises an epic story but there are no pages to be seen. You trust Bungie and buy it hoping for a good story - not a complete story but an introduction, a prologue if you will. What we got was a disjointed rough draft outline of a story and a lick and a promise that they would finish it off later. In its current state there is no story worth mentioning in the game. It has the potential to tell a good story but right now its NOT told well by any stretch of the imagination.

Well I'm not far into the game (Venus), but i feel that no matter how far you are, from the look of things (Bungie's pushing out raid and such) there are more to come. There's a schedule they are going by. I'm not saying "oh it's going to be EPIC! You wait and see." I'm saying it's still early. I do wish for more exploration but that's more in the gameplay discussion.

My only issue with all of it is u shouldnt have to buy the dlc for a game to play its story mode if that is in fact what they intend on doing.

I do agree in terms of it hasn't been done before therefore a shock. But you can also say that you now have a choice to continue the story, by paying more, yes because nothing is free. Think of a favorite show or book series or a movie that is no longer in production. Sopranos, X-files, Harry potter, idk, whatever you like and you may say, oh I want more. You can't get anymore of it because no one will produce it. Bungie has already produced the work and let's take your speculation that this was a planned dlc story expansion, it's up to us to decide if we want more of the story. I compared this to a lot of things, what about comic books. It's the same way pumping a bit of story out at a time in each book. What about tv series like Sherlock which audience have to wait for 2 years for the next 3 episodes to arrive. Mass effect ended with a lot of criticism which I think is a lot more valid then the ones I've seen here for Destiny. None of my comparisons above can be true an equal comparison because we are talking about an interactive medium.

Maybe this first story is in fact the "Back of The Book Jacket". it introduces characters and gives you an idea of whats coming.

One can only hope. I know Bungie is capable of much better story telling and therefore I expect them to reach a Bungie level bar, especially when they have hyped the hell out of the story.
