Yes, but these factions require A LONG time to rank up, and with only being able to earn 100 points a week for crucible and Vanguard marks it makes it take longer. Before any of that you have to get level 2 or 3 which still takes a ridiculous amount of time and replaying the same crap over again. Destiny is unlike any MMO in the fact that your drops and gear are RANDOM. In Borderlands you are guaranteed at least one high end weapon a boss and maybe an orange. In Diablo you can repeat at will and always get the same items that were awarded the first time. These games incorporate a reason to play more and repeat because your efforts are rewarded. In Destiny you MAY get a rare engram that will turn into green boots or a legendary that turns into a strange coin. You are never guaranteed anything and that kills it for most of us who looked forward to an MMO experience on console from some of the best developers around. If the multiplayer was any good it would make up for it, but it's not and never will.

Dude, Im about 4 days into leveling up my Future War Cult rep and I'll have the 3rd rank (required to buy legendary weapons) probably by tomorrow. It's not THAT long.

Rank and Marks are not the same. You can continue earning rank from running strikes, and just about everything else in the game. If you're ONLY grinding Strikes for Rep, you're not a smart person.

Not a big fan of rng but it's in the game and you just have to pray to the rng gods that somthing nice drops. Defiance had rng in their game and it was totally messed up

Not exactly, on Borderlands there are no guaranteed drops with bosses, only rewards for missiones, usually blue ones (but some of those blues are better tna legendaries though). In any case Borderlands loot is way better. My theory, Destiny has way less legendary items than Borderlands so loot can't be so generous.

If that's true than you might understand my disappointment in this game. A next gen game only had a few areas to explore, tiny loot drops, minimalistic amount of weapons, same recycled enemies, no story, terrible multiplayer, near broken AI, and an overly difficult and complicated amount of missions that don't reward you with anything.

That means in two weeks you can still buy [b]THREE[/b] legendary pieces of armor. That's in addition to the exotic you can buy off of the weekend guy if you get all your coins from the weekly heroic strike. And if you have the motes you can buy the exotic engram from him too. I think I have enough marks for two pieces of legendary right now

I'm not saying to do either. He was just making it out to be so difficult to get legendary items and that just isn't the case
