I have 0 legendary engrams 0 exotic engrams. Maybe 12 rare and maybe 40 uncommon. And i cant get any light armor im stuck at 20.5 lvl. Have been since friday. I have shit luck in real life. Idk why this game would be any different.

Level up with the Vanguard and your choice of Crucible Faction. Earn marks and buy your first few Legendaries. That'll get you started on doing the harder content to get even better gear. I'm like 26.5 and haven't gotten a single Legendary from an engram.

Yes. Rare and Legendary armour have the light stat to increase your level.

Lol i feel you there I was surprised that crucible gave me an exotic it seems crucible rewards good players with rewards after the random ones!
