I swear it's all related to level. The higher tier level you are, the more likely better color drops appear.
Under lvl 20 you have such a slim chance for a random blue and purple. 20-23 most drops are blue with a small chance of purple. 24+ there's a higher chance of purple and a small chance of yellow.
The quickest way is to not worry about the drops and focus on light gear.
I spent so much time farming from 20-23 and got zilch. Now that I'm 24 I get a few purples every hour.

I'm lv 24 and I get legendary enegrams but they all turn into blue or green justify that for me. Iv gone through 12 now and have yet to acquire a legendary item!

Yeah. That should be relative to your cryptarch level and randomness. The important takeaway is that don't expect to even have a chance at getting purple at like lvl 18 and even less chance te crypt will give something good. Just focus on reaching that 24 tier and then plugging away at cryptarch. Lots of people get frustrated that nothing is dropping but improving level changes that and then In Time the items come. Otherwise someone could be grinding at 21 not realizing their efforts won't result in their desired outcome.

I have this theory where I think the ratio of certain types of drops changes depending on your class item. I wasn't getting anything worth while till I put on a legendary cloak for my hunter now I'm getting blues left and right and have gotten two purples. And that was within an hour of playing.

I believe in this theory although i do believe it works better with cloaks of that not from a faction say crucible,the speaker, etc. i bought legend of the wolves cloak from speaker been getting legendaries left and right.

Its not that i had a white for a long time. Either level or combined rarity of all items equipped.

I am level 25 almost 26 and i get nothing but blue-yellow. In 2 days i have gotten 14 purples...only ONE was something i could use >> and 2 yellow (no exotics but i did get a bunch of coins)

Where are you finding a few purples every hour?

I'm lvl 27, nothing I have was a random loot grape and my only exotic I paid for with my work...

Man idk I'm 25 and I get non stop green maybe 1 or 2 blues. I got 1 legendary chest from the crucible when I was at 21. I've only had 2 legendary engrams drop for me while in game.

I've only ever got ledge nasty engrams twice, and I was a level 20. I've never gotten one since, and I'm now a level 23.

I think this may be true. At 20 I got blue lvl 16 and 17 pieces...at 21, I'm getting blue 17 and 18 pieces...so if the same pattern continues then 22 = 18/19 and 23 = 19/20 and finally 24 = 20

I'm 26 and still get level 16 blue from some legendaries, don't really get many drops any more apart from green.
