My brothers were discussing Dust Bowl* was the hardest. I personally disagree, lol.
*Palace - whoops.

Anyone who hangs around the doorway into the place causes wizards to spawn in much greater numbers. Keep everyone away from there and you'll be fine.

just sit behind the rock lol

Edited by Doc SoCal: 9/30/2014 12:26:51 AMThat is the finest bit of animation I have seen in a long time. The Ogre is 100% Dick #lol

Thank you for that. ROFL :D

I beat it on lv. 26 solo. It's honestly not that hard...
-
Yeah, this strike is the pits. Ba dum, stss!

Edited by FuzzyWhiteLion: 9/29/2014 6:47:36 PMDid summoning pits the other day for the first time with a buddy and quite enjoyed it. After getting wiped a couple of times learning the spawns and the map, our random 3rd team member couldn't cut it and quit out making it a bit more interesting. I ended up being the bait and circled the arena constantly, and as I hear it (I didn't want to look) I had a congo line of wizards, thrall, and knights while my teammate picked them off. This actually worked pretty well since the mobs couldn't hit me as long as I kept moving. We killed all mobs and then focused on Phogoth. Was definitely alot of fun and only my teammate died once running this strategy. Lot's of good tips below. I'd be concerned about standing in one spot for too long and being overrun by the mobs.

Nightfall version soloed.

Phagoth the Dick Demolisher needs back up.

Edited by Rustcleft: 9/18/2014 1:00:49 PMThere's a few things to know about this fight that make it tremendously easier. 1). Early on Phogath is chained. You can range him for a while, but if anyone gets close he will immediately break the chains. 2). Unlike Ogres, Phogath's weak point is the glowy ball(guts?) on his stomach, not his head. Aim here if able. 3).If you jump on top of the raised pillars closest to Phogath, you can freely shoot him if he's right next to them as he'll keep trying to ground slam which can't hurt you there. Just be careful as he'll start backing away to try and blast you. 4). If anyone jumps on top of the platforms on the far left/right of the arena more mobs will spawn This doesn't apply to the large pillars surrounding Phogath. If you stay on them or just on the ground, eventually mobs will stop spawning and you can just focus on Phogath. Most of the time I have problems with the strike is because people keep jumping on the raised platforms spawning knights/warlocks, but I've also solo'd the strike, which is coincidentally when I noticed the patterns.

Edited by Xienne_: 9/27/2014 3:03:13 AMIf you leave a few alive, they won't respawn all the wild ones. Phogoth is one of the easiest strikes if you manage to "exploit" the spawn of his minions. I find dust palace a bit more difficult because you have 3 or 4 little guys with shields as the boss, and it can be annoying when no one has the corresponding element to easily take down each of their shields.

Ok I'll give everyone my strat. 100% works if you have the skill. Don't aim for phogoth. After 3 drop ships of hive no more come. So chuck grenades when they drop, take them out so it's just your FireTeam and phogoth. Phogoth is easy when he's by himself. He's slow. His reaction timing is slow. Pop up and shoot at different places with weapons that do a lot of damage and nobody will die and he will die quickly. I usually stay to the left. Right side is terrible, enemies retreat there. Staying back is maybe worse than cancer. Shriekers spawn, all enemies from all sides rush in there if you stay back. If you run this correctly, the battle should be 10 minutes.

Played it this morning. As hard or harder than Summoning pits, because the chance of a full team wiper is much greater with Dust Palace.
-
thats why I just play from the entrance to the boss room, lol way easier.
-
I think the one with the 3 Flayers is fairly hard
-
Hahahahahah. True
-
It's as if the "arena" he's in is engineered to perfection. Staying back is a death trap but seems the safest. The worst spots (don't be stupid though) that actually have a bit of cover work the best because you need a good sight for shooting around. Props to Bungie/activision for making it where enemies seemingly know where to go. Side note.. You will die if you're all together. It sometimes works if two are together but focusing on different things, but otherwise, split up.

I just go to the far side and jump and kill shit while my team mates stay near the door and get -blam!- by wizards and knights.
-
Dust palace is the easiest I find next is nexus then summoning pits.
-
Lol thanks for the laugh man!

Edited by Silent Pacifist: 9/18/2014 11:26:06 AMfor last boss, camp in the room, when shrieker spawns, wait for it to despawn, do dmg on boss. shrieker and wizards spawn. leave them alone, they despawn, rinse and -blam!-ing repeat. its literally one of the easiest strikes. -blam!-. edit: literally the only freaking hard part is opening that gate, aside from that, the entire thing is a literal cakewalk, i get drunk on most strikes and the only one i have trouble with are the ones where you can't camp and easy peasy the way through them.
-
done that one by myself twice
-
summoning pits at a high difficulty (26 or 28).....we decided it was easier to dodge the shrieker then kill 100 knights/wizards + boss. It MIGHT be possible to run the eyebeam through all the adds, but I have yet to have a group organized enough to get that strat to work.
-
I've never had any issues in this level. usually its the fastest strike for me to complete. only issues were disconnects that occur just as the boss is about to die... well, that and having teammates who have no idea you're supposed to shoot it in the stomach. it takes forever when I get a group like that. also I got that rabbit emblem from the gold chest in the boss room. so happy with it
-
I timed myself with this Strike today. From start to finish it was 7 minutes as my record, with two randoms. Not bad!
