I understand that communication is important...but I'm pretty sure My being a mute is not a reason to deny me a chance at it...

Just don't play with those people then as they are obviously just dicks. I'd happily play with you when I get to level 26 if you're on PS4!
-
You may think it is harsh but in reality the majority of the firefights require you to split up and hold your ground to prevent team wipes. If I was on your team how would I know what was happening on your end? In one portion a boos teleports people to either the past or the future and the rest need to open the portal to rescue them... which portal are you in? Going through the gorgons maze you spot a gorgon approaching that the rest of the team hasn't noticed, how do you tell them to stop moving and hide? I'm not having a go at you or anything of such but these are questions that you will need to answer for a fireteam to take you along, otherwise you may end up causing your team to wipe a lot more than they want. I've played all manner of games before but never before have I been forced to use the level of communication that I have had to use in this raid. The onslaught of enemies is relentless and you really don't have the luxury of looking around the screen to see which guardian went down or cover multiple areas. Bungie said the vault of glass is not for everyone and if you want to take that as a form of discrimination its your choice, but those are but a few examples of the level of communication needed.

Hi, if you are on PS4, our group Helluva Good Gaming, will be running the raids second boss today at 5 PM EST. We all have mics so you should be able to hear us, and we would love for you to come join in. Only thing required is level 26, and have a mic or something to hear with. No vocals neccesary. You can add K_The_Unforgiven or you can add tehAncient Hope to hear from ya soon!
-
thats stupid..did it with 2 people without mic's yesterday we had em dance for yes and wave for no :D
-
i agree, as long as you hear commands and group no what your doing, i have no problem taking you on raids,
-
If you have somebody with you just have them talk for you
-
Thats why we need a text chat
-
You being mute by birth and playing this shows that this is diversity in the games playerbase that needs to be thought of in atleast a small way, your team couldn't atleast ask if you were ok with assigning gestures to certain words/phrases? Well then that means you found people that only had what they wanted in mind and couldn't spend a small amount if time to think about it. Sorry for my mini rant
-
GG NO RE
-
That sucks. You still have the ability to communicate, like using gestures to mention something, or comply with a command
-
Humanity is a cruel species, but you give me hope. Everybody's equal and you can't evaluate a life. Continue doing what you love and inspire people! Personally I would turn on the mic and pay eye of the tiger for moral support :)
-
Well it's bad that you have this condition but you truly need a communicating team to complete the raid, we're about half way through and we have lots of trouble even with every player using his mic
-
Whoever rejected you just because you can't speak needs to not be able to speak for a month. Nothing gruesome, or brutal, just, you know, can't speak for a month. While I understand their logic and reasoning, their inability to 'improvise' a solution to include you, despite the ability to speak, is uncalled for. I'd game with you, hell yeah, do a Raid lets go. You can run damage dealing, or support, something that doesn't require speaking. Hell I watched quite a bit of the Vault of Glass last night, and while there was one point where everyone had to communicate something, 80% of the raid was follow the leader, roll with a group, and kill stuff. There was only really one section, towards the beginning, that required at least all members to be on voice, but even that could be worked around. TL;DR - People be assholes, you don't need to speak to game/communicate (it broadcasts that you dance, hell every time you do something that needs confirmation, -blam!-in dance xD)
-
That is lame. As long as you can accept orders from the fire team leader like, "go to yellow," or, "revive so and so," I don't see the real problem.
-
I would put Morgan Freeman's voice on over your mic. He can be your voice for raids for motivation and support. But on another note. I would still game with you, mute or not. It's about gaming and enjoying what you're doing.
-
If you're on PS4 add me, MideonNViscera, or join our clan, Jerichoholics. Nobody will hassle you for being mute.
-
Just put in the Mic and play motivational music
-
If you want you can do it with me.
-
Find a group of people with disabilities then, no one has to accommodate you, and with something as big as a raid on the line it's unfair to expect others to. I'm not going to give you the tons of apologies that other users have, I'm gonna be straightforward.
-
I can understand their logic but that's damn cold of 'em. If you do have a mic (for whatever reason) you could do something like tutting into it once for yes, two for no, etc. Anyhow, good luck on the raid.

Edited by ColdAsHeaven: 9/17/2014 6:36:07 AMIts more than likely because they can't tell if your following the directions or on board with the plan. Earlier today we had 6 people with mic's all level 25 or higher doing the strike, and for the life of us we couldn't get cleared the first raid part (where you have to maintain the 3 sync plates) after an hour and half we called it a day. But that is screwed up, if you where in Mt clan, we have an app set up so we can communicate with the players who dont have a Mic...so maybe you should find a clan that's similar? Or request mine?

That's some bull shit man. Add me on PSN:Lozoro101 if you want.
-
Sending Irongrid109 and the fireteam some positive vibes. Great to watch the community in action.

ill raid with u bro GT: Devtrax lvl 26 Warlock

Never really understood that. The key to raiding is listening and following the direction of your raid lead(s). Not communication. As a raider in various MMOs of 14 years in casual and hardcore, I can tell you the more people that talk the more chaotic it is. Last thing you want is everyone talking over one another and pulling people 5 different ways when one group says "here" while another says " no over here!". Most raiders prefer people that know how to shut up and take orders. Hope you find a good group to raid in after that disaster of a group. Ever need a partner you can feel free to add me, PSN: Ithyx. :)

Find a group on the forums who accepts your disability and can work with it.
