My Primary Issue W/ Destiny - I feel alone...
In the center of the tower... there are people everywhere, but there's zero player interaction. MIcs are not used, and it's completely silent.
You're in the open world and stumble across a group of players - be it a public event or just passing by. It's completely silent.
You queue up for a strike. Half the people don't join the fireteam if you invite them. If you're 3 seconds from reviving, but they block a fallen sniper round with their face instead of staying safe... oh well. Couldn't warn them. It's completely silent.
You queue up for the crucible. It's completely silent.
You wish to do the daily / weekly strikes. There's not even match making. It's completely silent.
Want to do a story mission and your buddies aren't on? Have fun playing alone.
I have about three friends who play destiny on the XB1 (I have others on other systems). One is level 6, the other is 14, and the last is 20. I'm 25. I can't play with any of them, except in the crucible. Forget the lack of story, traversing the same terrain, completing the same strikes... there's ZERO player interaction for an online only game. What a disappointment...

send a messege via whatever system your cosole has or a friend request. Desting has a menu were you can send a friend request!!

Also have a buddy that I met on here, we Fireteam almost every night and do random stuff. Whether it's helping eachother complete bounties or doing the Heroic Daily / Weekly. If I am at the tower and someone sends me an invite I ask them if they need help and how if at all I can help and I do my best to help them. This has ranged from helping people to do their Exotic Contracts to doing strike missions and for those new to the game helping them level up and explaining some basic concepts to them. It would be nice if there were more people like myself, but I have found that for the most part people of a high level are either arrogant or condescending and in some cases both.

6 RepliesAfter reading the nature of the posts on this forum, I am glad there is no proximity chat and that the queue for Crucible is silent. If the ugliness and whining of the posts in this forum (your post excluded) is representative of the majority of the Destiny population, the last thing I want is to hear them through my headset. Like others have said, join a clan with friends that you trust and you can tolerate.

1 ReplyI was surprised there was no text chat. Like world chat with channels. There are times when none of my friends are on. And instead if searching I just farm rep. Also the fact that you can't easily send out a call to arms when a public event procs. And did anyone else think there would be super public events that were much harder than the standard ones or was it just me that got that wrong?

i find it funny how bungie expects people to use bungie.net, but the truth is that a lot of the people that play don't use bungie.net, making them unaware of story and clans.

I agree that it's really difficult to find parties in game. Our clan recently joined Destiny and we are looking to expand with like minded gamers who are looking to have fun and GET IT DONE. 8 RepliesDo you even clan bro? Every single time I've logged on to destiny since launch I've played with people. Cause I'm in a clan with people I really enjoy playing with. There's so many tools on this website and others to meet people to play with. I'm actually kind of craving some silent, solo play time because since launch I've been talking while playing non stop. Don't complain and be depressed when you haven't taken advantage of any of the social tools available to you

I'm nearly always in party chat, so.... not too silent. I can understand the frustrations in cooperative strikes and such, but be real. We've all been in the game with that guy who NEEDS to be muted for flagrantly abusing the English language and everyone he can with it. The overwhelming amount of game chat is usually people you would end up either muting, let alone reporting for their unnecessary bad behavior. Granted I have had some of my most fun nights with stupid people on mics, only to get them to quit, or in game proximity when the opposing player meets his demise at my will. But too many ruined the mix for the rest of us with inappropriate language and disgusting displays of why some people should not be allowed to have children. Blame them. Get / make some friends to play with either in game or here. Join some larger, established group here on B.net of similar minded/interest people and get connected. You'll be glad this place exists.

This has to be my biggest issue with Destiny so far... Actually, this is my [b]only[/b] issue with Destiny so far. Since I can't chat with random people before adding them, I've been reduced to letting strangers play with my balls in order to make new friends........... My purple ball & soccer ball. [spoiler]I don't like sharing my balls!!![/spoiler]

Its so hard to just get a random part started and on top of that when I go to the tower there is only like 15 people max there so there are times when im looking for people my level (25) and there is nothing to be found.

5 RepliesI agree with the lack of communication. IMO, emotes are fine I guess, but they could have used teh D-Pad for something far more useful. When doing Strikes and Crucible via matchmaking, one of two things should automatically happen 1) The people you are playing with should be put into a temporary fireteam OR 2) The people you are playing with should be put into some other sort of temporary structure that allows for voice chat. As is you either need to invite them to a party (PS4 main menu, I assume there is an XBOX equivalent), or invite them to a fireteam, which then boots them to orbit and they have to load in again. I will however say I'm more or less against proximity voice chat, jsut too much potential for abuse. I would really like an LFG thing where it's just added to the roster menu where a fireteam leader could post something like "need 2 more for Vanguard Viper runs" and make it so they could add a minimum level so they wouldn't have to constantly boot people they deem too low. Alternatively, you could reverse that, individuals post what they want to do, and fireteam leaders look at it and can invite them. In the end there are dozens of little things Bungie could do to make this game less quiet, which is the issue. For now, all we as players can do is join groups/clans here or start a thread saying "need friends for stuff"

2 RepliesTarget someone, click on join or invite to fireteam - make some friends - L2Bsocial. If you go out (to bars or concerts) and just stand there - nobody is going to talk to you IRL either. You have to approach people and speak to them.

13 RepliesYeah I would love to know what was going through their minds when they decided to not include voice chat. "I got an idea! Lets not put any voice communication in game, tell people it a social game, then use the money we saved by not putting up servers for the voice chat and buy ourselves something nice." Sorry thats literally the only reason I can see them doing that for. And I have even seen people justify it by saying it would have cost them more money. They got 500 million, the biggest budget for a game thus far and its missing the most basic elements of a multiplayer game? (I do love the game, but its broken and could use a major tune up.)
