This is why there isn't matchmaking in raids
Go on twitch and watch the streams. These encounters are very difficult. I've watched multiple channels completely wipe, multiple times. Matchmaking for a raid would be useless. A group of people not communicating wouldn't make it past the first boss.
Bungie knew what they were doing. Raids are highly challenging and will require constant communication and teamwork. Not to mention every person has to learn all the mechanics. Bungie made the right decision.

So if they can progress past the gate then so can any 0.25 K/D person from the crucible. I'd take my chances with MM. Another thing is that a lot of people will never get to try it unless there is MM. You think it's better that people don't play it at all than the risk of failing? MM is optional so those who want to hang with their cool e-friends can do that, no one is forcing you to ever enter MM and personlly I'd appreciate it if you stayed out. Or preferably went back to WoW.

5 RepliesThe problem is without ingame social tools like public chat or text based regional chat, how are people suppose to recruit for a clan or find friends or ecen just share ideas? If you say come to the forums, do it all here, its what there for. I respond with I shouldn't have to leave the game to do anything. Its Destiny a MMOFPSRPG or SWS if you prefer the marketing not Foruminy an adventure where you become a legendary forum user. So without the social tools to meet and greet and do all the social things people want a matchmaker to just make life easier.

Edit: and thats just stupid that there is no matchmaking. What if we want to play with ranom people whi dont have a mic? They think its impossible, well, give us the option at least.

Also, this raid requires ZERO strategy or thinking on your feet... from the streams the enemies are just as predictable as in the rest of the game, three or four behaviors that are easily predicted after enough mindless repetitions. Its simply about having the right power level to deal with them quickly enough... just like the strikes. THERE IS NO INNOVATION HERE, therefore no reason to not work exactly like the strikes!!!!

Im not gonna lie....I did attempt it with "friends" and it was hard but not because it was challenging, unless you consider constantly spawning in enemies as your trying to open a door challenging. It seems that they are just throwing more waves of guys at you at a faster pace. No real strategy needed

8 RepliesEveryone on here is loosely using the word raids. The only raid out is Vault of Glass. Everything else is just a strike which is for 3 people. You do not need communication on a strike but for a raid you do. There should be call outs and support going on the whole time. For the people who have never experienced an actual raid before this could be new. The best way to communicate is through parties (xbox) or just fireteaming up and plugging in a mic. You shouldn't have to advertise in game for a clan or fireteam. The whole idea was to connect people through the bungie site or just making a new friend by messaging someone. But back to the topic at hand. I honestly do not believe in match making for the raids. You should have your friends or make new friend and come together as a team. Not some random half ass group that was thrown together. Raids require strategy and not brute strength.

2 RepliesPoint is most people just want a shot at playing it or beating it, but I do agree with you. My fear is that if none of those streamers beat it, Bungie may decide to nerf it, which I don't want.

Exactly, everyone that's is claiming its not that hard, haven't tried it or even watched anyone try it. Here's a fun fact for you. The clan that finished it first was a very coordinated group. It took 13 hrs +, and when they added up they're stats after finishing it. There was 1605 deaths. That's a group of six doing this, not some 20-40 man group like in another game I won't mention here.

12 RepliesFor starters, they could fix the broken fireteam system. If I'm in a fireteam, matchmade or manually created, I should hear the members of my fireteam on voice comms. Once that broken and very poorly implemented feature of the game is remedied, why not? Bungie made the wrong decision about voice chat and they made the wrong decision about matchmaking. Both will be fixed.

2 RepliesHow is eliminating the option altogether the right decision though? Suggesting and recommending that the content be done with close groups and communication is great, but forcing it is not. If some people want to do it with randoms, why shouldn't they? It's not like posting a message here or other websties is any differnet than having a match maker. All they need to do is give the match maker filters: Has Mic, check; at least level 2x, check; willing to commit 120mins, 240m, etc, check; removing the option isn't the right decision
