Okay so people cry about shotguns... They're only strong in melee range. That's fine.
Snipers are a 1 shot headshot... As they should be.
Let's talk supers. They're called SUPERS. They're supposed to guarantee kills.
Pretty much everything is fine IMO. If they kept it all as is, people will eventually adjust and realize it's perfectly balanced.

I run Scout rifle, Fusion rifle, and a Rocket Launcher as a Hunter. I absolutely shit on everyone, but that's not because of my weapons. It's because I have played FPS games for the past 10 years. Weapons are just a preference. Class is just a preference. People are just mad cuz bad.
-
It's basically a combination of team splazers/rockets/shotguns from the Halo games. So if you're into that type of things you're probably going to like it. If you, like me, prefer gametypes with some form of strategy and/or precision then it's probably not going to be for you. I've never been a fan of "who sees who first" games and that's what every Destiny match is like.
-
Fusion Rifles, it out classes all guns, including the hunter Super handcannon. Shotguns takes two shots more then 4 feet away, so you're dead by an auto in no time. Anyone who thinks shotguns are overpowered never played with shotgun.
-
Your nick says it all.. Not afraid of a backlash :D
-
Yeah I think it is really well balanced over all but , there are some glaring inconsistensies in latency comp software. Charged melee hits should be a one shot kill and they aren't always. There seems to be no pattern to this either...

Edited by Titan Commandant: 9/16/2014 11:00:17 PMHmm, I read here in a Strategy Guide... Strategy: Avoid anyone who has the potential of having a Super...oh, well...what other games do you have? Face it, Destiny is what it is, no argument, no complaint...But when it comes to a game with this amount of OHK abilities on the floor, from Supers to Heavies...there's literally no strategy. You're in a tube with a Titan Coming around the corner...50/50 He's got a Super...what is there to do but die when he triggers it? That's what I've told my Friends about this game's PVP. Its faster than Halo, you have to be more precise with the headshots...but once the Supers & Heavy Ammo start rolling out, any strategy goes out the window. Again, this isn't a complaint...but lets call it like it is.

I agree doesn'thave to be completly balanced to make it fun. I enjoy the game
-
I completely agree. It seems like every other thread on here is talking about how some weapon or another is OP. Well when everyone considers a different weapon to be OP, you know what that tells me. That everything is pretty balanced and that some people just have problems countering other weapons.
-
I agree, it is very well balanced. I run Voidwalker with a Hand cannon, shotgun and machine gun and seem to do quite well. One could argue Scout Rifles are the least effective primary in PVP though.

Edited by Primordial Bias: 9/16/2014 9:26:01 PMShotgun's are strong at close-range, that's true. But what's also true is that MOST OF THE MAPS ARE CLOSE-QUARTERS. The only viable weapons are generally AR's and shotguns. And yes, being able to bring whatever you get in single-player is perfectly balanced. I can destroy level 5's at level 24 because I got much better gear at that point but it's not unbalanced./sarcasm I don't think Bungie understands that this is not competitive. It works in COD because the weapons have around the same kill times with little tiny tweaks to give some uniqueness. It doesn't work in Destiny. The weapons are vastly different from each other and being able to bring the legendary Vanguard weapons armor into the Crucible while someone on the other team is stuck with a common Pulse Rifle that does very little damage compared to you and starting armor is not in the least bit competitive. I want to use a Pulse Rifle or Sniper sometime, but most of the maps give me very little ample range compared to a shotgun user who just runs up and blasts me in the face with no effort on their part.
-
Edited by ujjval0916: 9/16/2014 9:34:41 PMlol @ this PvP being balanced. Using a pulse, scout, or hand cannon over an auto is putting yourself at a disadvantage, Anyone who isn't using an auto is probably using the fusion rifle or the shotgun, which results in 1 hit kills. Make auto's have more spread to make using them for mid to long range engagements a gamble. Give the shotguns a higher damage drop off/ more spread. Only allow 1 shot kills at point blank, and anything past 7 meters completely useless. Make the fusion charge up longer, so in close range they'll be beat by a shotgun, and at long range they'll be beat by a sniper. You shouldn't be able to FoH through the titan shield.
-
People just need to play smart... I use fusion and scout rifle. I use fusion when I'm in those close areas and scout in the more open areas. I also read the frickin mini map and judge what weapon is best suited. You can beat a sniper, just look for that reddish glow and get cover. Honestly if a guy with a shotgun gets close enough to use it... Your not doing your job

Edited by TobZz: 9/16/2014 5:24:54 PMIt says in the Official Strategy guide, First, in normal Crucible matches, Level, Attack, and Defense stats do NOT matter. All weapons deal the same base damage based on their archetype. However, in matches where level advantages are enabled, these stats do matter.... If anybody were to read to details for matchmaking into a crucible game, they would see that level advantages are disabled, my problem with this game is my OWN connection, it's only 700kbps downstream so i get killed when i go around corners a lot, apart from that? This game is pretty balanced. I enjoy it a lot, even if I suck.

The people who complain about sniper are so funny.

Please keep telling yourself that. -
Everyone who says this game is balanced is using the OP shit to kill people, enough said. There are wayyyyy too many unbalanced parts of PvP. Shotguns have too much range, Fusion have too much range, Auto Rifles kill in .5 seconds., every melee is a trade because it gives the other person 2 seconds to respond to your melee, 90% of people lag so bad your shots don't even register. This PvP is only good to those who are abusing it right now, and thats why people want it to stay this way. Its broken, needs to be fixed, and is going to be fixed. This game is -blam!-ing joke compared to other competitive games. Nothing here is balanced yet, and needs a shit ton of work.
-
Pvp is fine. If you're afraid to die, please don't PvP. I know it's frustrating to get killed by a 1 shot kill weapon. But EVERY online shooter has them. They are ment to be 1 hit kill in melee distance

-
Agreed. Bungie did a great job balancing the pvp right out of the gate. Though pulse rifles are still on the weak end of the list I find. Better than in beta though.
-
I agree! Countering is the name of the game!
-
The problem is we are treating it like Halo. This is definitely not Halo. People are going to have different setups, different items, different levels, just like an rpg. Look in any rpg, go into the Pvp, and set up a lvl 60 to a new player. Don't even act like you don't know who'd win. Destiny tried as hard as they could to take it's leveled weapons, armor rating, all of that, and balance it.
-
Balanced? Maybe I think is it fun is the better question. Theres way too many 1sk weapons on the map all the time.
-
I agree that everyone using auto-rifles are extremely annoying. If I get a headshot with a hand cannon, I can drop a guy in three shots, but auto-rifles seems to have a faster kill time, and from a greater range. Does anyone know if all classes have the same health in multiplayer? As a warlock I get dropped really quick, seems too fast.

-
Less immediately charged one shot fusion rifles to the toe please. Then maybe we'd have a game worth competing in. As of now primary's are widely being used as secondary's.
-
What they need is a Primary only playlist, then all of us that hate that crap can have fun in that lobby
