I remembered why I started playing video games, it was a way to escape into a fantasy world for hours on end that provided entertainment and just fun. These days, it seems like everyone has forgotten what the simple purpose of video games are; Destiny being no exception. It seems whether it's PVP or even PVE; players have gotten so serious about playing. Now don't get me wrong, when engaging an enemy, of course everyone wants to win, but even if you lose, it should have been fun just to try, especially when facing off an enemy with allies at your side. Sigh...maybe I am just sentimental and I probably will get heat for this post, but....I really want to know....do any of you players...just play to have fun...win or lose...just the adventure itself makes you happy?
Hi everyone, first off I would just like to thank all of you for commenting on the post. Even if you have different opinions, it's absolutely fine because you are more than entitled to it. I was just happy to read that so many of you still believe in the basic fundamentals of fun, and even though some of you have carved out your own definitions of the word and what it means to you, I sincerely hope that you truly enjoy your gaming experiences, whether its with Destiny or any other game you might play. Thank you for reading, and SHINE ON ;)

Edited by Chron Aldazaar: 9/15/2014 4:20:43 PMMy fun in Destiny stems from doing lots of Level 24 Strikes, bashing haters here on the forums, turning in Engrams to find out they are just materials, and running around on random patrols gathering materials for upgrades. And I laugh and smile through ALL of it.

I enjoy finding 1337 gear and then wrecking in crucible which isn't hard because let's be honest crucible is about as casual as competitive multiplayer can get.

Depends if i enjoy the battle or there was a cool happening i like battle one on one honor and glory its fun. Don't enjoy it when T-bagging is involved -_-

I know what you mean back in halo 3 it was just fun and games no every one cares about k/D and that I hate it

I play for fun. Also, I understand I have a choice about this. I choose fun.

I'm all about fun but the stats are ripping every game of it. At one time, every game become only full of "look my ratio !" players, stressing themselves and shouting at teammates every time they die. Obsessing about stats numbers in a game is as much fun as looking at an Excel sheet... I'd wish Bungie wouldn't made that mistake for Destiny but here you go. Gamers need numbers to measure their...

No it isn't the game- it's the players. Everyone is so focused on how good it is instead of being focused on the fun. This is why we have so many negative reviews. Don't get me wrong- the story is lacking quite a bit but if you choose to focus on the negative- you won't have as much fun with the game.

Me to man, the only reason I bought this game was to explore with friends.

I hate the destiny community at the moment thier only in it to win
-
What if I told you, I only have fun when I play seriously.
-
Yes, once I get home I'm doing my homework an escaping into the world of destiny...to have fun!
-
Whats fun about this game?
-
Fun? fun..... fun..... Nope, you lost me.
-
People can have fun playing serious
-
I'm in for the fun. Right now I'm going around collecting ghost and sight seeing. While in PvP I'm trying to have fun but some times there is that one person...

I still play for fun. When things stop being fun in a game I stop playing. Though I can have fun just hunting for chests and gathering spin metal. VtxR - PS3

I agree, and meld that attitude with severe overcompetitiveness and you have my attitude toward destiny. It rules, win, have fun.

Playing for fun is cool, but there are certain circumstances when losing isn't fun. If I play a strike and I get killed or the team wipes two or three times, hey, that's part of the game. If we are playing a strike and we get stomped over and over and over in the very first stage, that goes beyond fun into frustration. Some people get bend out of shape too easily, true, but in some cases what you are experiencing pulls you out of the fantasy, and that's no good either.

The adventure in Destiny is weak. Take out the loot and have some no name company release the game and it gets dismissed as another dull, generic shooter.
