couldn't be happier legendaries are hard to find
I can't be the only one that is enjoying how hard it is to find legendaries right? I don't want the best items to be handed out and think it's pretty ridiculous that people would want it differently. This instant gratification-mentality seems so silly only a week into the game--sit back and enjoy the experience! And sure, it'd be frustrating to find a purple or gold Engram and have it be something for a different class, but it'll make it that much better when you finally do find something. Here's to the more searching and grinding ahead! Cheers!

As I'm sure you've noticed, it's reassuring to read so many like-minded players who realize that legendaries should be just that--[b]legendary[/b] . Anyway, I'm a level 21 warlock looking for other players for fire teams and eventually raids. I play in MDT time zone and prefer people who have and use mics. 14 RepliesThe problem is that it isn't HARD to find a legendary. It's purely random. You can play for 3 hours and get one if you're lucky. There's nothing HARD about it. It's bullshit. It should be that if you take down a massive enemy you have a greater likelihood of getting good loot. But, it's just as likely that you'll get good loot farming level 5 mobs. It's retarded. Also, in Crucible -- You can be on top of the list 10 games in a row and get shit, and the guy who is at the bottom can roll a Legendary. This is broken.

I agree. It'd be annoying if it were easy to find them. If they were as common as Rare engram drops, then there would be no feeling of accomplishment in finding one.

2 RepliesAmong my friends and I, I believe we have had 7 to 8 legendary engrams and at least 70+ rare engrams. From all of those, not one of us has gotten a legendary. I find that slightly idiotic to be honest. That said, it is easy to get reputation up and buy legendary gear, even though they try to cap you with the vanguard/crucible marks. They make getting to level 20 easier than beating Halo on Easy (it is the same way though level 23 as well for me, but not others) and then you just hit a minor wall of inconvenience in terms of gear. It's quite clear this game isn't going for longevity in its leveling or gearing, it simply wants you to make one of each class and keep playing. It is as casual as an 'MMO' experience as you can get. I wish legendary gear would come from engrams a bit more... but at the same time within two weeks or so of playing and doing every daily bounty you could be in full legendary anyways.

2 RepliesI'm happy they are rare, but i am not happy that they are random class from engrams. I have got 2 so far and both of them were for hunters and i play a warlock. I got all excited i got a legendary then was struck by bitter disappointment when i saw i couldn't use it.

2 RepliesAs some one who has extensively played games such as Dark Souls I totally understand this. The point of this game is not to be easy or to rely on hand outs from little to no work. You have to put some time into it but in the end it will be totally worth it! As for the legendary engrams dropping loot for other classes that is just an incentive to try the other classes and broaden your experience. Cheers and enjoy!

except their not. 75% of the people on my friends list has a legendary and exotics. I got a friend that has 3 exotics, not including the stuff he bought from XUR. now the fact that I have yet to get a legendary and i have opened 12(thats right -blam!-ing 12) purple engrams and not one legendary seriously blows my mind lol. thats the annoying part its easy for people and not for some. thats why I don't like RNG. want something to be rare and not random? make it as a reward for some really tough content. don't make it random and make it easy to get for people and some not. thats just inconsistent and last gen of bungie to do.

I like how they've made it so you have to put in alot of effort to get these and not everyone and his pal can have everything by the end of the first week, put the time into the game stop and stop whinging, hell I've only just managed to get my first legendary vanguard armour by getting vanguard marks and rep up high enough, i'll be working on the helmet next, and yeah you might not get the legendary gear often but you always get something of use such as rare currency/material for upgrades etc, people are expecting too much for too little effort

2 RepliesI used to complain about rare gear when I was first starting out as a level 20, but after reaching level 21 and almost rank 1 with vanguards I've learned to accept the rarity of legendary and exotics... But the crucible drops are a bit annoying. I would rather have a trash green drop than get nothing at all.

7 RepliesPeople have never played a grinding type of game or played too many games that try can't be satisfied by something new. All gamers want something new and different yet sh!t on anything that tries. This is a new franchise with a great base. Everyone has different tastes and opinions but we also have the choice on what to play or not. If you don't like Destiny, try something else. If you like don't like a certain flavor of ice cream you bought while trying something new, you wouldn't sit there complaining about how it could be better. There's other flavors out there, find one you like.
