couldn't be happier legendaries are hard to find
I can't be the only one that is enjoying how hard it is to find legendaries right? I don't want the best items to be handed out and think it's pretty ridiculous that people would want it differently. This instant gratification-mentality seems so silly only a week into the game--sit back and enjoy the experience! And sure, it'd be frustrating to find a purple or gold Engram and have it be something for a different class, but it'll make it that much better when you finally do find something. Here's to the more searching and grinding ahead! Cheers!

As I'm sure you've noticed, it's reassuring to read so many like-minded players who realize that legendaries should be just that--[b]legendary[/b] . Anyway, I'm a level 21 warlock looking for other players for fire teams and eventually raids. I play in MDT time zone and prefer people who have and use mics. 3 RepliesThis system is flawed because if you are lucky you stay lucky and if not you stay that way. I have friends who are always getting purple stuff unlike me who happens to be lv 26 only having 1purple drop. I don't think people should be that lucky, but (everyone) just have a slim chance, not just some of us. A luck loot drop chance ware your luck never changes is not a fair chance.

Im now above 42 hours played on my Titan, I'm yet to get my 1st Legendary Engram. I like that they are rare but it's starting to get rather ridiculous with members of my friend group in exotic/legendary gear and I'm only using what I've been able to purchase from vendors so far....

I've gotten lucky so far, an exotic legendary for my (not yet leveled enough) warlock came by two days ago, and I have enough strange coins/motes of light for the next time Xur swings on by. I don't mind the wait too much either, the gunplay keeps me interested even while I'm just farming planetary items. And really, a game with good gameplay is good for such things.

Hmm, I see the dilemma here. Well, Let me say this, I do have a Exotic Auto Rifle called the Monte Carlo. I got it within about 30 or so hours of gameplay after the launch, my clanmate got the Universal Remote shotgun before I did, and he had less hours logged in. I put my rear to work, I did the same missions with him, explored the same planet, opened the same chests beside the same enemies we just killed, he just happened to be more lucky than I. He still earns more legendary engrams than I do, but he doesn't have better luck pulling legendaries from rare engram's either :P I have a legendary helmet and shotgun that I found from said engrams, he only found his chest piece from a legendary engram. The point im trying to make here is that I am still better off, though slightly, because I still put in more work in the same areas that we both run. And even if people are just lucky and pull the weapon, that doesn't mean they have the experience or the materials needed like you may have from your many extra hours logged in with your effort. Just keep trying, don't let it rest and by all means, don't give up. It will happen, much like it did for me while I was playing a desperate game of catch-up with my clanmate, and I still have more upgrades unlocked on my Auto rifle than he does for my hours I put it :P plus the extra Vanguard rank I need to buy other legendary gear that I still need to earn with hard work on the Strike playlist's or public events.

I am ok with them being difficult to find. I would even be ok if they lowered the drop rate of the legendary and exotic engrams if they could guarantee that when and If you got one. It was actually a legendary or exotic. As of now getting a legendary and it turning into a blue is very frustrating.

I don't have a problem with them being rare. I DO have a problem with getting blue items from purple engrams. ALL THE -blam!-ING TIME.

It is not that they are hard to find. It is that you can't "find" them period... it is all RNG.. luck.. which is where most people are having issues. I spent 3 days (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) doing Vangaurd Tiger strikes not a single weapon or armor better then what I already had from formal play through. Hell most of what I got was green crap.

1 ReplyI totally agree with you on this! There is a reason they are called legendary! I only have one so far, a legendary shotgun. Got it after 20 hours too. The sense of relief/amazement had me farming all the time now hoping for another legendary.

2 RepliesI love the Legendaries being just that, it makes them feel all the more rewarding and earned (yes I know it's RNG, but you still put the time into looking for one, or you were lucky enough to get one, both the same joy for getting it)

I like that they are hard to find. I don't like that somehow many players have found 6 or so and I have purchased 1 lol. The loot system doesn't make total sense to me still.

Got my first Legendary weapon. It wasnt in a Legendary Engram. (The only 1 i've had was a bloody green weapon)... The weapon came from a Blue engram. Its a pulse rifle that is quite simular to the strangers rifle. (If only it looked as good...)
