PS4 Voice chat issues

So last night I was joined for a mission or two by someone on my friends' list. I had my headset (PS Gold Wireless) hooked up, and Destiny showed the icon for hearing my voice. However, even though this person was already a friend and in my fireteam, they could not hear me? I've looked around the internet and found a lot of "I have this problem too" posts, but I've yet to find a solution.

  • Add me to the list. I got wireless gold headphones and everything works EXCEPT when the group uses "sony party" to do chat (I think my friend is doing this when we meet random people to do raids on destiny lfg). Basically as soon as I enter the "party" the wireless headphones give the game sounds but no voices. Everyone can hear me, but I can't hear them. If I turn my headphones off I can hear everyone, but of course they can't hear me. Kind of useless for Vault of Glass if you can't tell your team which time stream you have been transported to or if you need cleansing.

    • Got the same Problem. something wrong with the NAT Type. I can't even talk in a Party. In Game i can hear my Friends but they can't hear me. I try to open the Ports from my Router. Some Routers Firewall block the Voice Chat. But my problem still not solved... The Ports For PS4 TCP: 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480 UDP: 3478, 3479

    • Same issue, have a friend I've talked to in fireteam multiple times. Tried joining a PSN party to talk with him once and got a NAT error. Since then certain people, many of whom I've talked to before, I can't hear and they can't hear me. Everyone else in the fireteam can hear them and and me but we can't hear each other. It made raiding really annoying.

    • Another 'me too'. I've been playing Destiny with a friend, for 2 evenings. With voice chat. In Destiny. No problems at all. I log in this evening, and suddenly it doesn't work. In PS4 menu, it works. We can talk to each other just fine. But as soon as I start Destiny, the voice chat is gone. I can see my mic icon moving, my friend can see it, I see the same for him, but...we both don't hear each other. What's going on?

      • I have the same problem, but with just one friend. I can hear other friends fine, but with one specific friend I can't hear him and he can't hear me. I'm guessing it's a network thing, but I'm not sure.
