[edit2]
Guys seriously. I posted this first week the game came out. This thread is full of a variety of different strategies as well as people trolling about how awesome they are and there are STILL people replying to this several times a week. If you can completely it easy, that is fine (no one likes a braggart), the game has been out long enough that anyone should have a way to do it now that works for them.
I have had to turn off my Companion App notifications because this thread just won't die...after like 4 months!!

After having to completely rethink my strategy and play-style for the crucible - filling out my titan's void subclass, learning how to shoot a fusion rifle and predict player movement, not going on the offensive, and finding the best place on each map to camp (ideally near heavy ammo) and just shoot those that come near - I no longer feel this is impossible as I have managed to get past 300/500. You still have these losing streaks where you can simply not touch other players, but it does go up....slowly. For anyone that claims this is easy, please elaborate how you did so, ie game mode, guns, class, strategy. Its one thing to claim its easy, but it is also good to share your strategy for those who don't do much of the pvp.

I was so exited to get an exotic weapon bounty the other day, which has so far required me to beat the Moon raid boss and kill 500 hive on the moon, however the second bounty you have to do for this is impossible. It requires 500 points worth of kills using void damage in the crucible, which is okay given each kill is worth 5 but every time you die you lose 2 points. So unless you are an insanely good player that can somehow compete with auto rifles and headshot experts you cant complete it. I spent hours trying to do it and managed to get up to about 50 points (mainly due to being matched up with players more around my skill level) and then just lose them all again over the course of 2 matches where the other players were either significantly better than me or simply had faster guns. There should be a mode where you can only use special and heavy weapons as these can simply not compete with primary weapons in terms of speed, or an alternate non-crucible method of completing the bounty.

I don't know what anyone here's talking about. I'm a bit past 250/500 and I'm shit at PvP. I've gone shotgun happy, and with 'Blink,' that's not as hard as it can be with other classes. Supers help too. Maybe Voidwalker class is the right class for this bounty.
-
the point of this is everyone shouldn't be able to complete it only the strongest
-
I think assists count. Spike and magnetic grenades do void damage for titans, and using void fusion guns and rockets speeds the process. Possible using the defender melee's special counts too. Using this setup, I got at least ten per game and frequently got twenty to sixty while playing control. It focuses the violence so you can maximize damage.
-
On the flip side, you also have to do PvE, I know one of my friends only likes PvP and would argue the opposite is just as anoying.

The only hard part for me is getting a weapon that deals void damage. (I'm a Hunter. So my subclasss are Arc and Fire). I only managed to find/buy a sniper rifle and LMG with Void damage. But farming with those weapons became a joke, so I've given up on it for now until I find an Auto Rifle or Handcannon that deals Void Damage...
-
Try the skirmish. As a total pvp newb I managed to get my "hard" bounty there. Just stick to our team, pull out a void pumpgun an get kd around 1-2 or higher...
-
Agreed, crucible bounties are fine, but to throw them into the game content was a worry of mine. I kinda hated halo online because some people were just too good, and this game is almost no different in the crucible

Edited by Masane Amaha: 9/14/2014 6:15:57 AMYeah, this bounty has me stuck in it, it's almost not even fair compared to the other Exotic bounties 3rd tier... My friend has his 3rd part dismantle 10 rare fusion rifles like that super easy but this one is ridiculous one death streak and all your progress is gone, they should definitely ditch the negative part and add maybe just make it flat out 250 kills and lower each kill value to 2 points
-
Called exotic for a reason. They aren't going to hand it to you.
-
I just completed this my self, I didn't find it too hard, but I could see where people would have issues with it. I took my defender titan, mag grenade becaues it's void dmg and a 1 hit kill if you stick, a void charge rifle, And void rockets. Disintegrate(melle) counts as void too so you can use that as well. Played rumble. Only Took about 7-8 games, even though I did mostly horrible because I never used a charge rifle in pvp before. You only loose 1 point for a death and you get 4 per kill so as long as you are getting thing better than a .25 kdr you will get it eventually.
-
Well that's upsetting. I'm trying to do the 500 hive in the moon right now, keep getting disconnected from the game though.. babbon, elk, kingfisher, now caterpillar...

Edited by Jas God: 9/16/2014 7:22:06 AMIf anyone's looking to help me and my brother out later today on the Summoning Pits Level 26 Strike it'd be much appreciated. I'm a lvl 25 Titan, brother's a lvl 26 Titan. Looking for a 26 or higher, add me "antagonist" brother's tag is "Traxide_Reaper". We're on the PS4. I really want this hand cannon dammit. We'll be glad to help anyone with whatever they need as well. Also, the 500 kills with Void in the Crucible isn't too bad, I just used a Void Shottie for the whole thing. Took me about 2-3 hours. The shottie I used had a full-auto perk so that helped me a lot. I just kept running around grabbing secondary ammo and killing.

You guys do know some weapons have void damage right?
-
I am just up to this part of the bounty too! I wont continue until tonight, but I agree the fact that it has to be void damage only is a bit of a kick in the dick since Ive only ever used the main weapons and heavys in the crucible. Its gonna be one satisfying gun if I ever complete! Wish you luck and Ill update once I get round to it!
-
Well u pretty much summed it up, except going on the offensive is the fastest way... grab a fusion rifle, aim for the stomach/chest and blast away. took me 1 and a half hour to complete, with class skills with void dmg. I had the same thoughts like the rest of you before i got to it, but it seems there are so many noobs out there, Bungie probably predicted that the key was to kill off the lvl 1-15 before they get they're aim straight.

Edited by a Nick Nak: 9/15/2014 1:08:26 AMOMFG!the lvl 26 mission isnt your run of the mill mission.. its hard as hell! took us an hour to get through the 3 waves to open the door.. an hour for our successful attempt.. running with a 27 and two 25s
-
I got the void kill by using a void shotgun in rumble(smaller maps) and it only took me like 30 min but now I have to do a lvl 26 strike! Ugh

Just for an update, Ive done all 500 for the pvp challenge in 5-6 hours. And if you think thats impossible, try the summoning pit on lvl 26. :)
-
its not too bad depending on what weapons you have, luckily i have a void sniper rifle and a void shotgun, so its been going up slowly but steadily for me, but i can usually break at least a 1.0 kd though
