Depleted Hand Cannon Bounty 2 *Feels Almost* Impossible

Guys seriously. I posted this first week the game came out. This thread is full of a variety of different strategies as well as people trolling about how awesome they are and there are STILL people replying to this several times a week. If you can completely it easy, that is fine (no one likes a braggart), the game has been out long enough that anyone should have a way to do it now that works for them.
I have had to turn off my Companion App notifications because this thread just won't die...after like 4 months!!

After having to completely rethink my strategy and play-style for the crucible - filling out my titan's void subclass, learning how to shoot a fusion rifle and predict player movement, not going on the offensive, and finding the best place on each map to camp (ideally near heavy ammo) and just shoot those that come near - I no longer feel this is impossible as I have managed to get past 300/500. You still have these losing streaks where you can simply not touch other players, but it does go up....slowly. For anyone that claims this is easy, please elaborate how you did so, ie game mode, guns, class, strategy. Its one thing to claim its easy, but it is also good to share your strategy for those who don't do much of the pvp.

I was so exited to get an exotic weapon bounty the other day, which has so far required me to beat the Moon raid boss and kill 500 hive on the moon, however the second bounty you have to do for this is impossible. It requires 500 points worth of kills using void damage in the crucible, which is okay given each kill is worth 5 but every time you die you lose 2 points. So unless you are an insanely good player that can somehow compete with auto rifles and headshot experts you cant complete it. I spent hours trying to do it and managed to get up to about 50 points (mainly due to being matched up with players more around my skill level) and then just lose them all again over the course of 2 matches where the other players were either significantly better than me or simply had faster guns. There should be a mode where you can only use special and heavy weapons as these can simply not compete with primary weapons in terms of speed, or an alternate non-crucible method of completing the bounty.

I used a fusion rifle. Started at 50. I get like 4 kills per death I have like 30 points per round

I used a Void Fusion Rifle and just kept playing Control. The reason why I opted for Control is that it compels team mates to act as a team, as opposed to Clash which can end up a bit like Rumble. I'm no good at PVP but I've never dropped to a 0.4 KD playing Control. I also noticed time of day was a factor. The Crucible seems much easier of an afternoon, up to about 7pm, and then the PVP crazies come out to play. You're now over half way, so it's only a matter of keeping up the form. But when you do the next stage, Xyor the Unwed, you will feel nostalgic for this PVP stage.

Get a Void Bronzed Thutmose-D from the dlc crucible reward its a very high impact machine gun i can get around 9 kills with the gun before running oyt of ammo. Try a really high stability sniper with void honostly that is how i got mine done. But the worst part of this bounty is still to come. The summing pits on steroids. It felt like forever for that female wizard to spawn but when she does she is weak as hell. Good luck hope u get it done.

Ya know.. it took me forever to get an atheon's epilogue just for this bounty.. not 2 days after i finally got it.. they nerf'd AR's into the dirt.. has taken me weeks to finally get a word of crota.. though.. i will say comparatively speaking.. the WoC seems to have almost identical stats to TLW.. so i'm hoping it makes this bounty suck far less.

Did it with shotgun and camped like a dick around heavy ammo spawns and waited for my lock super and heavy ammo to spawn before going out and wrecking face. Got it done in no time at all.

As a Hunter I went with Atheons Epilogue (for emergencies only since the Auto Rifle nerf), Purifier VII Fusion rifle and a void rocket launcher. Started off slowly but stick to a game mode, learn the maps and you'll start to see where is good for getting kills and where is good for not dying. A good example being control point B on Firebase Delphi. If you control it, people will just come flying down the corridors right into your line of fire and even poor players can take out a good few decent players before dying. On the other hand, if the other team controls it, resist the urge to pile in and try to take it back, because that's what they want. Aside from that, don't do a mad dash across the map for heavy ammo, because chances are someone will be waiting for you to shoot you in the face, thought that's not to say don't pick it up if you're in the vicinity. 2nd tip, don't be afraid to get non void kills. Sure they won't count towards your points, but as a Hunter, I can't count the amount of times that the arc blade or the grenade got me out of a jam with my life intact. Lastly, don't panic. If you're in a situation where you're probably going to die. Make sure you take one with you. Dying and losing 2 points isn't so bad if you've killed someone for +5 or even laid down enough damage for an assist, as they count towards the total as well.

Try this warlock-void class Atheons epilogue- accuracy over max ammo and void shot gun. with Atheons sit back a bit it's a good mid range gun but please don't lose your s##t after loseing a few times and keep running at them it's no good up close, so when in narrow corridors with tight corners etc "shotties time to shine" and like wise don't think because someone keeps killing you with a shotgun they're any good in the open it's more about tactics with your guns than your guns. I hope you get a thorn soon they are really good NOT OP! as you've said they're hard to get so SHOULD BE GOOD

4 RepliesFor all the hunter out there struggling cause you don't have void grenades or void melle. Abuse the living daylights out of the hunter's cloak. Easiest on a control map Step 1:crouch behind a corner Step 2:once you're cloacked, sprint to the nearest red dot on your radar Step 3:While cloaked, sprint at that guy and shotgun slide (with void shotty) Step 4:Run like hell Step 5:Pick a NEW corner Rinse and repeat. Got two back to back 10 kill streaks this way, I felt a little dirty, but it unlocked the bounty for me... :-/

I had it on a hunter so my subclass was useless. I used Swordbreaker and would sit in corners and used blink. I would try and flank players as best as I can and use my subclass to keep me alive even if it meant the kills didn't help the bounty. I'd rather stay alive then die and lose points. People hated my guts but after about 4-7 hours I did the bounty. Keep pushing through the gun is absolutely worth it!

I honestly didn't think I'd be able to complete the Void Damage part and struggled for an entire week. I never got above 250 and often ended up dropping back to 190 before I packed it in for the night. All it took was one night of getting into the groove and I hit 500 to my own amazement. Granted hearing "five minutes remaining" when I was at 480 got me super stressed... I'm glad it's done.

My 10 y/o whacked it out over the weekend. Titan w/ Void fusion/comedian void swarm/cluster rocket. I had to PAY HIM! It took two days cuz he got PO'd and rage quit day one. Then he relaxed went nutz on folks the next day abt 6 hours all told. The next Part's a POS too! Char was lvl 27. I dont even use the GD gun anymo.

The bounty depleted hand cannon step 3 is so frustrating to complete you don't even give the player a fighting chance. If your not a skilled player in the crucible like myself how can one achieve a 100+ kill death ratio to accomplish the 500 point void damage. Bungie you fail at the simplest tasks for this game, how did your testers even let you put a crummy bounty lay out. Your pitiful developers should have done the following for this step task exotic bounty: "earn 1000 or 5000 damage with void weapon systems" or "earn 500 points with void damaged weapon systems. death will so progress (this just needs modified to match the [u]EXACT[/u] damage delivered to the enemy guardian. So if I do 125 dps to a target will a shotgun then that damage is calculated into the progression.) In conclusion your developer team(s) needs to focus more on the players that PLAY THE GAME. Stop trying to throw curve balls at the community and pissing them off, if you continue to do this it will no doubt-ably cause players to boycott this game and your company, really how stupid are you? are you so spent on cash that you finish a product with out the final combs going through it? your attempts to make a promising game is laughable. Do me a favor a don't put your company and team in the same category as infinity ward, activision, and treyarch (which in my opinion suck and make terrible games). So fix your bastard child of a game and give the money spenders what they disserve. suck my balls, Abhor
