Well simple really they are there I believe to give u a good gun e.g. say ur unlucky or never got that type of gun u want
So u go to tower check out all fractions n weapons find something u like/want to use buy there class item weare it n now all places where it says "vanguard' or "crucible" reputation u earn that value for ur new fraction
p.s. only while wearing ur class item from that fraction
