Can i get a destiny stat guru to help me understand the inns and outs of XP or someone with some good links/fundamnetal knowledge?

So it hadnt really occurred to me until today due to finally getting my other subclass and messing with new weapons on older planets that i am at a compete loss for how XP is scaled. Lets start by letting you know im a hardcore stat nerd and i go crazy over every little .001% of a difference on paper whether theory or not due to an old habit i cant break from playing star wars galaxies. Destiny has been a completely new experience to me, no traditional forum setup what so ever, plenty of news but no official or strictly written for reference patch note page or what have you like im used to with MMOs and even Diablo 3. So id love as many links and or info as you feel i could really benefit from that would be digestible in a linear fashion for me by which i mean not just a bunch of random news blog posts on here or something unreliable/inconsistent. -- So to the heart of this thing, my questions... How exactly does the game calculate how much XP is given to each given player in an area and how that XP is then divvied up between your weapon(s) sub class and between say you and a friends in a close game and say you in a free roam game with ppl passing by you all the time. Now for the questions that spawned this very specific question that can hopefully answer all my questions im one question... How does the game scale the XP you get between a monster and your level varying from being lvl 1 fighting a cap lvl mob vs being cap lvl fighting a lvl 1 mob? Does the game scale xp differently as well, like with how much xp your (weapons get vs your armor) vs (sub class/class specific xp) vs (your characters physical lvl number)? -- Everything else below can be considered TLDR for any of the more casual or only slightly interested parties, thanks Now lastly ill list off some differences i noticed that prompted these questions along with many more questions i dont feel i need to go overboard with... When i level i like to scale the difficulty up and i feel that adds a leveling curve that makes the game easier almost, ever since i started solo leveling everything on the hardest difficulty the game has felt much easier than when i would have otherwise done it or as a bad example in the open beta. Once i unlocked my subclass i looked into how to leveling them worked but more specifically the the fastest way to level or catch up to your other sub class which i havent found a clear answer to. I tested it out where i was already progressing quest and level wise and i felt extremely very under powered, i tried going back to earth and was one hit killing everything it felt like. I just went to the usual farm spot in the open world patrol mode map on earth but specifically i believe its the sky tower area. Here i noticed that all my loot was dropping for my level not the mobs i was killing which i find extremely odd. I find it odd because it makes the game not feel rewarding in the sense that you can just go to the easiest place to farm with the least resistance and effectively farm items resources etc much faster than someone doing it wherever they last left off playing or found was their favorite spot like this location had become during the open beta (by open i mean us pre ordered players). I then noticed after going to my older favorite spot the big open area you initially reach before going back through buildings to get your first ship story wise a few odd things. The mobs were so low level they had greyed out names, the damage dealt to them by my barely leveled (rare) naraka SR5 scout rifle with a level req of 16 is at 184 near double that of a hand gun i was using before with the same effect and have yet to try due to one being on its first upgrade and the hand cannon being maxed. It seem that against these low level 3-5 mobs they take less damage than they should to the body and the dmg numbers are darker than normal. However if i land a head shot for the critical numbers its always a 1 shot kill landing dmg matching that of my 2nd best semi auto rifle/hand cannon style weapon atm. Other than all those oddities and it them being applicable from any range of mobs on the cosmodrome so far with the exception of the crazy level 20 some odd beast that shoots purple laser beam cannons from its eyes so far i also noticed that the XP gains for my sub class have been much higher than my new (rare) scout rifle i was trying to level beside my subclass. It also appears that xp payouts for bounties or similar things that require you to chat with an npc on the tower dont follow the same rules and apply a massive flat number to everything. Im never surprised when i see say a semi low leveled class and then i throw on a bunch of matching level but unused weapons and armor, ill usually see my weapons get close to max their upgrades unlocked along with my armor as well as at least 1 sub class skill unlock and even a full level when id turn in enough bounties at the same time. The only thing is they all seemed to have their own hard caps on how far the xp would stretch so it still scaled somewhat differently between some of the things. --- Anyways sorry that was so long i just have so many questions have made a ton of observations and still havent the slightest clue what is really going on nor where to find the answers without working myself to death. So i was hoping one of our more well respected and educated members could help me understand all of this or at least give me the proper reading material to do so myself because im sure no one has the time to write a fully written fully explained fully answered response to all of this by hand. But by god the amount of respect id have for someone that did fully explain the xp system and its rules tips ins and outs by hand here would undoubtedly have earned the most respect from me than anyone i could imagine has online before from me at least :P Thanks for letting me ramble and i look forward to reading any advice or answers even if its not a full xp scale system break down lol, at least id have something more concrete than these observations i cant make sense of.
