Raid/Strike Time Availabilities

So I figured with the game approaching, if we're really considering trying to get together some regular groups for the end game content - especially the raids - with needing to get 6 people together at the same time with a specific raid lock (at least once or twice a week depending on amount of time available on each day) we should try to get people's schedules a bit to get an idea of when everyone will be around. I'd suggest starting the week on "Tuesday" since that is the raid reset day, and only put what you should be available for every week starting in October if you know it I would guess, as it will probably take 2-3 weeks of strikes/pick up games/etc. to get pretty much everyone geared and ready to go into the end game between switching characters, playing PvP and everything, there should be plenty to do with pick up groups prior to set clan raids. For an idea, from what I've seen of the content so far, and what I've heard from people who got to test some of the more advanced things and the videos, and from knowing Bungie, the raids should only take about 3-5 hours after learning the mechanics and all would be my best guess. With that said, with my experience in MMO raiding, it typically works better to try to do either 2-4 hours twice a week, or one "mega raid" night where it's about 5-6 hours, as more often than not, the biggest thing is people tend to be 15-30 minutes late, so the start up time always gets pushed back more than is intended. I also get the feeling that almost any class combination setup can complete any of the encounters, but it may be easier for certain setups than others. With Bungie, it wouldn't really surprise me too much if they tuned the fights to be 2 Titans, 2 Hunters, 2 Warlocks, but just about anything SHOULD work. For my own availability: PSN: CgSquall Class: Titan Tuesday: 5 pm - 2 am EST Wednesday: 5 pm - 2 am EST Thursday: 5 pm - 2 am EST Friday: work Saturday: work Sunday: work Monday: work I'm a Registered Nurse, so I work every other weekend at the very least, but I should be available in the middle of the week for raiding stuff, and randomly throughout for Strikes/PvE/PvP/etc. Also, I realize I'm jumping the gun a bit on posting this, as we may not even really be reading for raid material until my conservative estimate of October, but prior to that we can simply take whoever is on and ready on any given day to give it a shot, but organized groups will help a lot in actually getting the bosses/mechanics down. Lastly, I apologize for the gigantic wall o' text.

  • It's fine, I simply posted it here because it seems like no one is actually using the website at this time, but I'll transfer this post over there. I read their recent post, I'm not quite so sure the raids will only take 1 to 1 1/2 hours for quite awhile, as during the testing they gave people close to 2 days to figure stuff out. At the same point, the people they gave a chance to were mostly FPS players, and it seems like we have a bit of a mix of FPS players, Action RPG players, and MMO players here, so we should be a bit more used to strategy and all. Also, personally I kind of like the forums here, considering with the Destiny app on my phone, it's really really easy to keep up to date.
