They'll probably add it in a sequel I'd people ask for it. I don't think they ever mentioned piloting a ship, if they did, it was probably in reference to the sparrow. I do agree that having little bird of exploration I the ship would be cool: navigating an asteroid field, infiltrate/fight off an enemy perimeter to get to or unlock a planet. Maybe find and shoot down an enemy satellite, fight off a ship defending it. Pvp dog fights. It could be a great mechanic. Unfortunately, that would take a ton of work, so I doubt we'll see it this time, I'd be hesitant to say that it could even come out in the sequel as a team could be well into working on the sequel now. But maybe we'll see something like that in destiny 3. It would be a very cool and worthwhile mechanic. It's definitely something that would keep me playing after I've beaten the full story campaign.

Totally agree with you there on the whole. They certainly didn't say the ships were NOT flyable either, but they talked about them and showed then a lot, I know that much. Certainly I think their statement of 'Every Gardian gets their own ship' implied they featured more in the game than to feature in a cut scene. Certainly featuring in cut scenes doesn't warrant the amount they have spoken about the ships in Destiny, which is what led many to believe they featured into the game significantly, whether Bungie did it intentionally or not.

I thought the every guardian has a ship thing was about sparrows. Maybe if we request it enough they'll add it. I think they have a contract for 4 or 5 installments, so it very well may feature in a future installment. I think that, along with whatever lessons they learn from this game will make future installments pretty killer. Hopefully bungie makes enough money from destiny to buy their own servers and do a cross platform setup. From what I've heard, the only reason we don't have full cross platform is that Microsoft and Sony don't want to share services like that, but if bungie could get away from that by using their own servers we could get full cross platform. After destiny releases they'll have a clue of just how many servers they would need to do that, plus they'll have profits from sales. So I think it's pretty likely.

No, it wasn't about Sparrows, watch the making Vid Hocs for Destiny, and you'll very clearly see that they were referring to ships, as they are on the screen when talking about it..

Ah, well then maybe they had something but scrapped it for whatever reason, if that's true then I can't see any reason why we wouldn't have some sort of ship flying/fighting In future installments. We're guaranteed sequels, and if it sounds like they already could have some scrapped material to work off of then the work is half done.

No worries. Since it sounds like bungie will add raids and stuff, let's hope the game feels longer. Their proximity chat copout at pax was pretty lame, so was the weekly update saying "you won't beat the game until you've found every secret and beaten every player in pvp" but I'm still pretty hyped for the game

What are these Raids I keep hearing about anyway? Is it Co-Op events that occasionally turn up or something?

There's only one so far. It's called the vault of glass. It's the final level. You have to get 5 other friends together in a fireteam to do it. No match making

Ah, ok, cheers. I think I heard of an exclusive one on the PS4 version also.
