After it was heavily suggested that ships would be flyable in Destiny, from the promise of 'Every Guardian gets their own ship',
I'd just like to point out no where in that quote is it heavily suggested you can fly your ship. At. All.

At. All.
What's the point in 'having your own ship' if you can't fly it? Wasn't even worth mentioning the ships at all to the degree they have. That statement, and all the concept art they released of personal hangers and ships flying through space have all contributed to implying the ships are flyable. The fact it was so ambiguous, and so many people didn't know if they were flyable or not, only re-enforces how misleading it was. It's not like they went out of their way to say they were not flyable until the eleventh hour, but DID however show loads of screen shots and concept art of ships, and like I say, going out of their way to say things like 'Every guardian gets their own ship' certainly implies they feature into the game play. Nobody else deems loading screens worth mentioning, which is why mentioning the ships so much in the first place, makes it look like there was more to them. In short, even mentioning it at all by default, implies there's more to the ships

Loads of concept art and ships flying were released for Knights of the Old Republic, but did you ever actually fly it? No. Same applies for Pelicans in Halo (Until the easter egg in Reach) and loads of other vehicles in others games. They were selling the game. Any developer is going to mention as many features as possible to establish a depth of personalization for each player if that is part of the main theme of the game. You made an assumption, overhyped that assumption, and are now sad that your imagination got the better of you. Don't cry foul of ambiguity, unless explicitly confirmed don't make assumptions.

That's the very reason these forums exist, which you are also visiting and using.

I'll repeat, there was more than a quote which gave the impression that ships were flyable, and I'm far from the only one. Your defending implied content that was never provided, I find that intriguing.. Surely it's better to have it in and have the option of space missions, as opposed to NOT having the option, no?

And I know you aren't the only one. A good majority of the people on these forums completely exaggerate what is said by Bungie, filling in statements with their own fantasies and expectations. Never mind the fact that they pretty much summed up the extent of ships in 2013's E3, and space combat / player control was not among what they hinted at.

I could swear I saw the option to delete posts earlier but it seems your right. Actually you was fairly rude when you said "It's sad that your imagination got away from you" and "Don't cry" and "making assumptions" when there was every reason to deduct ships featured in the game based on what was said and shown in relation to ships. Your post had a condescending whiff about it for sure. Wether you accept it or not, doesn't change the fact that ships WERE implied(while not outright announced I accept) to feature in the game, hence why so many people thought they were, because that's very much the impression they gave. They certainly didn't make it clear they were not flyable and merely for cut scenes. I'll ask you this.. Why talk about and show so much of something, if it's not even in the game? As I say, Wether you accept it or not, this did give the impression they featured in the game, which lead myself and many others to believe they were in the game, and that the reality of it. We didn't exaggerate anything, we took what we were told and shown at face value. Ps, I can remove posts from the time line, I've just done it, just to see if I could, and indeed I could.
