Why do people always pick on Christians?

I've been scrolling through the forums and I always see this. Why? What did they ever do to you?

Well it was kind of easy for various fatihs (not just Christianity) to get bad reps for a lot of their mindsets. Christianity has the handicap of having the largest body of people try as hard as they can to ignore science, claim they're being oppressed by science, then try to oppress other people with their faith because the constitution protects their right to be christian (which a lot of them interpret as we can do no wrong therefor everyone be christian or satan's butt buddy). Please note that I'm not saying this is true of all Christians, it's just a common thing people are exposed to and I think it's fair to say that those I described are mostly extremists since just like everyone else people tend to not care what another person does in their life. With the Muslim thing there's the whole extremists going way off the handle and killing people and being in general murderous psychopaths. Again this is describing the extremists and certainly does not represents the whole. Something I can't stress enough on my stance is that there is no end all be all rule. Each case is different from person to person and honestly the vast majority of people just want to coexist. All that said there is a bit of a Muslim scare that I hope doesn't turn into a post pearl harbor Japanese situation. Though I've only seen two examples of it thus far there is a bit of a nervousness towards the Jewish over the Israel/Palestine conflict but that seems to be more representative of people that are largely uninvolved with the situation. The stronger polarization with the Christian situation is largely to do with, me guessing, a lot of us here are from the States and it is an issue everyone is pretty much familiar with. I don't see as much on the Muslim thing since it seems to be pretty taboo to bash anything that isn't normally associated with the united states, though I know quite a few people that seem to be of other faiths be very vicious in their stance with all Muslims due to the actions of a few psychopaths. That's probably not helping to dampen the stereo types against them. As a bit of a conclusion still keeping in mind that I try as hard as I can not to paint a whole with the actions of the few; however there is only one group of people I can think of that have caused hateful scenes yelling profanities and swinging signs around telling me I'm going to burn in hell because I happened to be walking down the road that particular day or because I went to an event for like minded people to appreciate things like games and comic books. Edit: As a bit of a continuation there is also the lack of a common sense policy in how things are ran in the States. For example I know of a situation involving someone I know having a career that received the ire of a particular christian group (Not wesboro sadly) they would constantly picket his place of work, his home, were his daughter went to school, they'd sends hundreds of hateful phone calls a day, have threatened his child saying she would, "Burn in hell for being satan's woman of ill repute" (The actual word would be censored but I think you all can figure it out), they spread his name and address and phone number around so more people could "Spread the concerns of God" (threaten and harass him and his family), and they did this for months. No legal action could be taken on his part to stop it. Technically it was all legal since it was all a religious protest. Keep in mind that if at any point he did anything he would have been prosecuted for assaulting a protest. There are tons of stories like this so people tend to be a bit bitter.
