Because the people who argue with Christians are either
A: Idiots and have a superiority complex
B: Just bored and want to argue with someone.
C: Don't like the religion and just want to hate.
There's plenty of other reasons, but those 3 are just coming off the top of my head.

Christians believe god gave us free will. If that is true then he/she certainly wouldn't have censored meaningful debate. There is a difference between arguing with christians on different issues and picking on christians. One can be educational for both parties involved and the other...well...picking on anyone really has no value.
-
Can I just say all of the above because... You read me like a religious book.
-
I was under the impression Galileo argued with the Christians of his day, so I was wondering if you would please share: which of these categories does he fit into?
-
You mean the Catholics? They are not Christians.

Um... Since no one else said it, I'm just going to say, he did not argue with the Church, at first anyway. He actually reported is findings and related them to religion. This caused a stir in the Church because they were already supporting other incorrect findings... Let's just say some issues with pride occurred after that. He doesn't fit any of those categories, since he had a just reason to critique the Church: they screwed him over.

No...Catholicism is a type of Christianity. The first actually.
-
They are not different, catholics are a denomination of christianity.
-
It's kinda like sqquares and rectangles. Catholics are christians but christians aren't catholics.
-
Yes, I forgot to specify all that good stuff
-
You didn't forget, you were straight up making false claims.
-
Well, if I remembered, I wouldn't have made the mistake of making those false claims.
-
I don't think you know what you're saying.
-
So Catholics aren't Christians? Interesting world view you have there. You might want to look up a few comments as "the true Scotsman" has already been mentioned
-
Catholics are Christians, but what I mean by Christian is baptist or Lutheran. Those groups identify themselves as "Christians"
-
what I mean by Christian is
I can only recommend you not use a private language when conversing with others, as telepathy is not yet commonplace. Moreover, I've known some number of Catholics over the years and none of them have ever described themselves as Jewish, Muslim, or Zorastrian.

What?
-
He means you shouldn't give words you're own special meaning and expect others to automatically accept that same meaning when it's different from the actual definition of the word. "Christian" refers to anyone who believes that Jesus was the Messiah.
-
What? Catholicism is a branch of Christianity.
