Be sure to get up every couple of hours to do some stretching for about ten minutes to keep the blood circulating properly in your body and to try to prevent blood clots!! No joke on this. The body doesn't do well when it's immobile for long period of time!

I've heard a story about a gamer who was sitting down so long that as soon as he got up, all the blood rushed from his head to the rest of his body and killed him
-
I find getting up in between games to pack a bowl works pretty nicely
-
I used to use an exercise bike when I played COD. Pedal during the match, do press ups and sit ups during the intermission and loading screen. Burning about 900 kcal an hour
-
...and don't forget to blink. I've ended gaming sessions looking like I've smoked a pound of weed and my eyes hurt the next day.
-
Play the game on a Treadmill haha
-
I was going to install my television on my bathroom wall and put a mini fridge and microwave in there. I thought that would cover it for sure. Now you're telling me I have to stretch???
-
Several tips here. 1. Sit super close to the tv so you gotta move your head a little to see the edges. 2. Hold off on sleeping for as long as possible. 3. Don't take any breaks. 4. Drink alcohol, energy drinks, coffee, and soda. 5. Play in a very dark room. Because it prolly won't kill you and there will be plenty of time for healthy behavior AFTER you play the hell out of Destiny!

Ill just power nap

Edited by The108: 8/30/2014 8:35:43 PMI think the boner, I'll get while playing Destiny, will keep the blood circulating enough!

Real talk. I nearly died from a blood clot in my lung 3 years ago. I went to work for two days with it collapsed. I'm a very active person in decent health so the doctors have no clue where it came from, but the pain it caused was excruciating. Take this advice.
-
I'll be fine. I have to walk upstairs to get a beer and I get fresh air whenever I go smoke a bowl.

Also stop at GameStop and pick up some gamer hand cramp cream. #firstworldproblems

Who sits and plays games so vigorously that they have to worry about standing up to stretch. I'd tell those people to get a life

Bungie makes me wet

Wear a diaper and don't eat or drink anything!

Edited by Jeigh: 8/30/2014 2:52:41 PMLol I can have sessions go for up to 4 days with no sleep, little food and hydration, movement and I'm healthy as. Idk why people complain about eye strain mine have never hurt in my life from gaming...

And remember, always follow the instructions in your game manual for a healthier gaming session, such as: 1. Avoid playing if tired or sleep deprived. 2. Make sure that you play in a well-lit room and assure yourself that your screen brightness is well adjusted. 3. When you sit in-front of a screen, make sure you position yourself within a safe viewing distance. 4. Whilst playing the game, do a 10-15 minute break every hour Excerpt, Skyrim(TM) Game manual. Edited by Capt Irfan: 8/29/2014 6:51:32 PMI practice Tae Kwon Do on a daily basis to stay in top shape. I don't do many athletic type activities, except for Tae Kwon Do, but the reason I do it is because I have a desk job, and when I get home I'm either working on my laptop or playing games mostly. I keep staying in great shape a priority because I don't want my other activities putting my body in trouble down the road or cause injury to myself. True story: Before I started taking Tae Kwon Do, I was lifting regular furniture and I pulled my back muscle. Keep a regular activity that works you out hard guys, even if its 2-3 times a week. Your body will thank you, and you can game more effectively for a longer period of time! Edit: Also, staying in shape helps you in "other" activities as well ;)

Oh yeah, and don't forget kids to stop for a few seconds every 10 -20 mins and look around the room at various distances, near and far, to prevent eye fatigue/damage
-
That's a super good tip. I work hunched in crazy positions for 8+ hours a day and I can feel when I forget to get up and move... Maybe the xbox users should use the xbox fit thing every couple of hours and do the 10 min yoga warm up. I bet that would be really good.

Job = Minus kills Sh*t Bucket = Plus Kills

I actually just got a blood clot and got very ill. So i'll be getting up every hour to stretch and walk for a minute. Before that I was gaming for 10 - 12 hours straight sometimes.

Indeed, and stay hydrated. Honestly don't see why its so difficult to eat some fruit and drink some water whilst gaming instead of munching your way through 3kg bags of crisps! I think my gaming snacks will be pistachio nuts or something similar. Good for you and delicious.
