I see your point. I think the biggest issue with people wanting MM is that there is zero in-game communication. People don't want to jump through hoops to form a raid, when it should be able to be formed in-game with a looking for raid channel or such.

while i agree that the lack of communication in game is a flaw, you need to have your group of 5-6 friends you train with organizing with them on when to be online next. Creating a new group every time will be as bad as MM
