I think its for vangaurd points.. Other one crucible points..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Vanguard Points are acquired in the wild, Crucible Points in the Crucible.

Yeah the green lights in the wild give's you jobs from the tower from dead orbit or any factions.. But i think you can play pvp for crucible point or vangaurd points or dead orbit point you now ? Inthink when you join a faction you can choose for what points you wanna go

Vanguard Points can only be acquired in the wild, I believe, and Crucible Points (sorry, 'Reputation') in the Crucible alone. Faction Points are acquired in any activity, provided you're wearing the class item of a particular faction. With those points, you can buy and/or access (to buy with Glimmer[?]) items from a particular faction. Taking a job from a particular faction in the wild does not give you faction points from whichever faction gave you the job, only standard XP and Glimmer.
