I'm sorry. OK? I know I could have handled the situation better. I don't want people to look at Arabs negatively considering many of the Arabs in America are here because they come from accomplished family. But, I didn't know what to do. He was talking about my mom and how she got -blam!- by terrorists. Once you go there, I knew I had to do something. I didn't have much time to think so I just did the play on stereotype thing to do.

Uh no, I'm telling the guy that since 2001, there is an intense fear of middle eastern people in most of the United States. He did nothing to correct that fear in the barbers head, only made it worse. Saying it is a phobia literally means people are afraid of something. Attaching "Islam" to it means people are fearful of Islam. I am not afraid of anybody's religion, skin colour, sexuality, or anything else. I'm married to a Black woman, I have gay friends and bi friends, and I have friends who immigrated from Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

You do realise you keep digging yourself further and further into stupidity, right? The guy was afraid of people who are Muslim before the OP went in the store. (Islamophobia caused by 9/11) Op went Into the business and was harassed by whomever because of this fear (never once did I say having this fear was okay). So instead of making the guy realise that having this fear isn't okay (isn't okay) (isn't okay) (isn't okay) he used that fear to make the guy hate/fear Muslim people even further.
