For one, there are plenty of games that are totally innocuous and receive no criticism, and the criticism that is levelled against a lot of games is basically never a fundamental part of it. Would Watch Dogs have been fundamentally different without its sex trafficking story line? Would GTA V be if it didn't let you pay for sex or have its idiotic 'grope strippers to be rewarded with sex' mechanic? If Metro: Last Light (and so many other games) didn't have its mandatory strip club/brothel level and lap dance sequence? This stuff is all tacked on: it's not important thematically or mechanically. But all of that aside, gaining greater representation of women doesn't mean developers aren't allowed to test the water or that they can't mess up now and then, because they can, and that isn't going to make their entire project worthless. When games are criticised for having this sexist stuff in them, it doesn't mean that the entire game should be thrown out and never touched again - it means you should recognise what's wrong there and be conscious of it, and that the developers should try to do better in that respect next time. Again, this isn't about 'censorship', it's not about getting rid of all games, it's about trying to make games better.

"better" for who? See what I did there. In trying to be inclusive in one game to everyone we push away some. New games don't have to worry about this, but established games do. I'll use GTA cause of your reference to it there. I disagree. Gta wouldn't be GTA if not for everything that makes GTA.. well gta. ;) Wanton violence, hookers, strippers, and that chaotic mess of hedonism. And what if the witcher had nudity taken out? There will be a huge out roar. Why tho? cause guys won't be able to enjoy some eye candy? no. Cause it goes against what the witcher games stand for. MATURE GAMES. Aimed at adults. Removing a part of something that the majority enjoys because some don't is censoring it. Rather then just have more options where those things that offend in GTA are not there. Like the variant covers to comics. You don't like cover? Pick up the one you do like. Edit: I'm down for better representation of women. But without dissecting parts of a established game. Devs should keep that in mind in making new games.
